Ques. What is the usual CAT cutoff for IMI Kolkata?

● Top Answer By Rishikesh Kumar on 26 Mar 21

Ans. As far as the cut-offs are concerned IMI Kolkata believes in the overall evaluation of a candidate and hence there is no particular cut-off set by them. An individual with a higher CAT percentage but with a low academic and co-curricular profile might not be able to make it to the institute, whereas a person with a comparatively lower CAT percentage with a better profile may be able to make it. It also varies on how you portray yourself in the interview as well as other rounds that are required for the admission process. As mentioned above IMI Kolkata judges a candidate on each and every aspect. However, if you do have your CAT percentage less than 60 percent than your chances are quite less, but one should still try to submit. The usual CAT cut off for IMI Kolkata is 80+ percentile. Try to score at least 65 percent in CAT if you want a fair chance to get into this institute.Read more

Ques. Can you please rank these B-schools: IBS Hyderabad, IMI Kolkata, IMT Nagpur, Bimtech (PGDM IB Course), SIMS Pune, Amity Noida?

● Top Answer By Harshavardhan Babu on 07 Feb 21

Ans. Many coaching institutes publish many different rankings of B schools across the country every year based on several different parameters. Which in most situations aren’t reliable and trustworthy. But the Times ranking or Career Launcher ranking is more realistic and based on practical parameters. According to these rankings, the preference order of the institutes is as follows.  SIMS Pune (Symbiosis tag, good average package) IMT N (IMT tag and brand value, good placement, good faculty, and campus life) IMI K (Decent placement) BIMTECH (Location factor) Amity Noida (Brand value, beautiful campus) IBS H (More number of students, only location advantage) The table below gives a brief overview of the institutes in the question. Institution  Average CTC  Course Fee SIMS Pune 9.2 LPA 9.20 lakhs IMT N 7.94 LPA 12.1 lakhs IMI K 10.25 LPA 12.41 lakhs BIMTECH 8.13 LPA 12 lakhs Amity Noida 4.5 LPA 6.80 lakhs IBS H 7.97 LPA 14.04 lakhs This list and ranking are unbiased based solely on reasons that are practical, realistic, and are only facts combined with different student reviews.Read more

Admission :

The college take admissions through Common Aptitude test score which is CAT after you qualify the cat score then you have a round of interview and test once you qualify that you are called to college for final interview process. Then the interview process include questions and extempore.

Remarks :

The bad remark of the college would be there is a lot of hierarchy the teachers do not facilitated everything you need to ask everybody for events taking a small steps in the colleges if the committees are there in the college that not that you are useful because everything is accountable you are too much accountable for everything what you do this wouldn't what is not have that was authorities and power to perform so it's ok as per the academic it's not that great the opportunities are less when you see the final placement can you please. Also fine not get date and if you see on investment ratio it's bad trade.

Admission :

I did in my graduation, and since then I have been interested in management courses, seeing the cut throat competition, I choose MBA as my post grad, so that I could fit into the corporate sector even better. I choose my institution, seeing the well qualified faculties, alumni, Placements, campus and of course the location. The very first thing which need to be done for admission into a B-school is appearing for competitive exams such as - CAT, XAT, CMAT, MAT etc. So for my college I applied through my CAT score. Now for the admission process, the institute follow a rigorous procedure, which starts when a you clear the merit list, by scoring a standard percentile which the institute decides, if you appear in the merit list, you’ll be called to appear in the next process which is GD, extempore and Personal Interview. I appeared for my admission process in the year 2018, in the month of March.

Remarks :

The college is doing quiet good and above expectation. The faculties are excellent and give their 100%. Overall the college is good if you are a student with an average CAT Percentile looking for a college that might fullfill your dream to get you your dream company.

Admission :

I received admission to this college after I gave my CAT entrance. The interview was taken at IMI Delhi campus. I opted for this course as it has a better professional oriented course and curriculum. The course helps me to get better insight into the industry requirements.

Remarks :

The college is good and has all the making of a great college but the administration and the placement cell needs to ensure that the number of students they let in are quality students and ensure better placements and internship offers. The college needs to branch out into other fields like operations and Human resources.
