What students say about Mithibai College of Arts

Likes

  • Faculties are very good. Their way of teaching is excellent. They teach with a variety of strategies and use assessment to inform students of their achievements. They keep the passion to give knowledge to students.
  • There is an internship fest that happens once a year, with many good companies coming around, offering a good stipend.
  • The placement department of our college helps students in obtaining the best jobs based on their skills.
  • The fee structure is well and okay. Many scholarships were offered by our management, which helps the students a lot. Jobs were also offered by our management, and they were quite impressive and good.
  • The best of all is the canteen facility that is provided to us on the campus.
  • The hostel facility is provided by SVKM, a charitable trust that also offers state-of-the-art facilities and beautiful rooms.
  • It is stated that it is the best college in the city, and the extravagant establishment gives students room to explore their talents.

Dislike

  • This is because Mithibai College is accredited by Mumbai University, and the curriculum is taken from the outdated Mumbai University syllabus itself.
  • No, it extends its course up to the graduation level, which does not require an internship as far as my field is concerned.
  • There is no scholarship that I know about because they dont advertise; however, there are some provisions in the fees for underprivileged students and other caste students.
  • Negative remarks would be the attendance, which is at 75%, making it difficult to maintain throughout the semester.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I did choose this course as I would like to pursue a career in forensic science. To pursue that I preferred microbiology as my subject. ( as it's a biology subject ) and I will be eligible for msc forensic science. The faculty and student ratio goes well. It's not about exams being difficult but you need to study from the beginning. Then everything goes in hand.

Remarks:

For BSc ( UG) there is no entrance exam, it's strictly based on the 12th standard percentage. The cut-off was 85% in 2020. To find the application form Before filling out the college application individual need to fill out the Mumbai university form and then go for filling out the specific college application. When I joined here , Reservation was removed. It was common for all . But for Gujarati minority the cut off is around 60.4% in SSC Examinations But now reservation benefits can be attained by applying to various schemes ( that college offers) through the government.
