What students say about Motilal Nehru College - [MLNC]

Likes

  • The course curriculum is excellent, and the faculty is mind-blowing; teachers want to give everything they have.
  • I have chosen a BA program course that does not provide any kind of placements because it is not a huge or professional course.
  • The campus placement of our college is perfectly fine and it gives us the opportunity to get placed in one of the best companies in the market.
  • The fee structure is good and affordable compared to the facilities provided by the college and staff.
  • The 2018 annual fest is organised in our college in the month of August. In this fest, Jass Manak comes to the college and sings songs. This fest is one of the best fests among all Delhi University colleges.
  • There is a library facility, sports facility, good canteen food, and air-conditioned rooms for the students.
  • Of the good and well-qualified teachers from Delhi University and JNU University, who teach exceptionally well.

Dislike

  • The syllabus should also be updated from time to time, which is being carelessly ignored.
  • Ugh. How can I forget about the placement and entrepreneurship cell of the college? Its way more pathetic and doesnt work accordingly. No company has visited my college campus till now.
  • If the condition is very poor, then you can also apply for scholarships in the college, and any bank will finance the amount.
  • The infrastructure is pathetic; the campus lacks Wi-Fi and the library is too small in size.
  • Students would take PGs as an option. For this, they have to pay at least 3000 rs per month without food facilities, or else they want food facilities too.
  • The roofs of some classes are broken, and the fans of some classes also do not work.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I was from a commerce background. Faculty: The student ratio would be around 1:35. The faculty is well-qualified and their teaching style is also very good. The teaching method of the Faculty is very good.

Remarks:

Class 12 with Maths/Business Mathematics for Bcom ho ours and if students don't have Maths/ Business Mathematics they can go for Bcom programme CUET UG form. No, as it doesn't have any problem in the admission process.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Actually, my first preference was Economics Hons and not this course but since the cut-off for economics hons was high so I kept it as a second choice as I was a bit interested in accounts. The faculty: student ratio in my opinion is not equal to last year's when there were about 45-50 students in class before covid, but this time there are about 70 students. So it's not how it used to be earlier. The faculty are mixed some teach quite well and some teach ok ok but there is one flaw with some teachers which is irregularity. The exams were a bit late because of covid but now it is on time. The exams for the second semester were a bit difficult as it was after 2 years of covid. Also, the pattern for accounts was also changed which made it difficult to complete the exam in a good way.

Remarks:

When class 12th results were out, Delhi University released the application form on Delhi University Official Website which was around 500. Then the next step was cut off which was divided into 5 stages. But the cut-off for my course was very high and it was very difficult for me to get into this college and desired course as I came from the general category and didn't have any reservations benefits. Yes, I faced a problem as in 4th cut off I applied for PGDAV College and but then it was not showing whether the form is filled this was because of a glitch and there was no official number on which I could contact after a lot of efforts I got one number and then the problem was solved. So at least one number should be there on the official website which is 24/7 available.

Course Curriculum Overview:

All the colleges at DU follow the same curriculum for the same courses. I had commerce without maths, so I ended up getting admission to bcom course which is one of the most prominent courses at DU. Since there was merit-based admission, loads of students applied for seats in this college. Currently, we have a strength of around 96 in my class. There are 4 sections For Bcom with an average strength of 350 students in bcom Program particularly. All the faculty members have proficient skills and thorough knowledge of their subjects and hold a PhD degree. The teaching method is also up to the mark. It depends from teacher to teacher. The syllabus is vast as per the new education policy but Can be covered with dedication within a month. Exams constitute subjective and lengthy questions so that there is no scope for cheating. Exams are conducted periodically after every 4 months for each semester along with preparatory leaves which is sufficient for a student to cover the syllabus.

Remarks:

I have taken admitted to this college purely on the basis of merit in the 3rd cut-off list from the general category. But now they have switched to Admission based on cuet scores which are to be taken into consideration. In order to be eligible for admission to DU for bcom course you need to secure an aggregate of 40% in all subjects in your intermediate I have also applied for the CW quota for admission to other Colleges but Didn't get selected. To avail CW quota you need to have an educational Concession certificate and you will get seats in your preferred college on a priority basis from 1 to 8 as per the conditions prescribed. Now there has been a significant change in the admission process. You will have to undergo the cuet entrance exam.
