Arya Kanya Pathshala Post Graduate College - [AKP], Sitapur

Started in 1966, A.K.P.(P.G.) College, Khurja has successfully completed its forty years. It is serving as a premier institution since its inception in higher education for girls in all the nearby districts.

The college has a fully furnished double story spacious building with lush green gardens and 20 well furnished class rooms. The college has 24 hour water and power supply. There is well equipped Home Science and Psychology Labs where students can perform different types of experiments and practical.

Arya Kanya Pathshala was a very prestigious college of the region for at least these decades because it was the only girls P.G. College in district Bulandshahr. Initially it started as a degree college with art faculty with eight subject i.e. Hindi, English, Sanskrit, Music, Economics, History, Political science and Psychology but after few years only PG Classes in Hindi and political Science were introduced respectively in1986 and 1992 the last four year Home Science has been inducted as a subject.

At least 15 Ph.D. have been completed under the guidance of Dr. S.P. Tyagi the principal of the college as the college is providing the option to engage in the research work in Hindi after the completion of post graduation.

The college provides scholarships to the talented students and the poor students are given free uniforms and sweaters. The college administration is very much conscious in maintaining the dignity of the college and keeping the college atmosphere pure, positive, friendly and perfetty suitable far academic.

Library :

The college has a well arranged, attractive and well stocked library having 19764 books at the end of the session 2008-09 and now it has reached upto 25000.

Facilities :

Book Bank Scheme : For poor girls there is provision for book bank scheme. About 2099 books are available under this scheme.

Intensive Study Room : A well ventilated and furnished has also been provided for studying text books based on syllabus for various classes and examination paper of different subjects are available.

Journals/Periodicals & News Papers : Journals and news papers are an integral part of the library. The college library subscribes Journals/periodicals named ANBHAI, GAVESHANA, AALOCHANA, HANS, KADAM BINI, PRATIYOGITA DARPAN, PALIKA SAMACHAR, RAJDHARAM, PARYANVARAN CHETNA, SANGEET, SANGEET KALA VIHAR, INDIA TODAY, GRAH SHOBHA, JOURNAL OF INDIAN WRITING IN ENGLISH, JAGRAN VARSHIKI, POORVGRAN, PANCH SEEL SHODH SAMEEKSHA etc. AND DAILY NEWS PAPER NAMED TIMES OF INDIA, HINDUSTAN, DAINIK JAGRAN, AMAR UJALA and employment Newspaper.
