NMKRV College for Women was started as a pre-university college in 1971, with just 150 students, and has grown in leaps and bounds since then. In 1973, it was renamed as the NMKRV Degree College for Women. The college is UGC and NCTE recognized with an “A” grade. For its great commitment towards education, the college has achieved several attainments and ascended towards success. Awarded the “College with Potential for Excellence” title, they received the “O” category by DST under FIST Programme in 2016. 

NMKRV College has 6 academic departments, namely Science, Arts, Commerce, Language, Business Administration, and Education. Each department has several programs with various specializations. Under the UG domain, it offers B.Sc., B.Com, BA and BBA programs. Under PG Domain, it offers M.Sc., M.A., and M.Com, programs. Library: The College is equipped with its own library, which consists more than 60000+ books, 131 encyclopaedias, and e-journals, to read and refer.

Auditorium: The other infrastructure facilities include two auditoriums with 300-seater and 100-seater capacity respectively. For big events, there’s another auditorium with an enormous seating capacity of 800 people.

Laboratories: The College also has overall 18 labs (Chemistry, Zoology, Biotechnology, Physics, Maths, Botany, Media and Computer) for experiments, research, and work purposes.

Activities: The College has an Eco Club Activity Programme, where the students visit government schools nearby the locality to make school students understand the basic concepts of science. Other than this, there are numerous initiatives, workshops, events, cultural activities, and many other programs to uplift student’s holistic growth.
