National Post Graduate College was established in the year 1974 by the then Chief-minister of Uttar Pradesh, Late Chandra Bhanu Gupta. The College offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Arts and Commerce streams and under-graduate courses in Science and Computer streams. National Post Graduate College (NPGC) also offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs for skill development under Deen Dayal Upadhyay Kaushal Kendra established with a special grant from UGC. Six programs are being offered under Deen Dayal Upadhyay Kaushal Kendra - two 1 year programs under Community College and two degree and two post-graduate programs of ICT, ITES, and Banking, Insurance and Financial Services. Admission to NPGC is both merit and entrance based. The application mode is offline and online.

NPCG Admission

The admission to the college is based on the entrance exam i.e LUACMAT and Personal Interview/ Counselling held at the Institute. Admission to College is offline.

How to Apply?

Candidates seeking admission in undergraduate programs must register themselves for LUACMAT conducted by the Institute through their respective official website. For admission 2022, applicants do not need to write the entrance exam due to COVID-19.
Applicants then have to fill their application forms with their personal and academic information.
The hard copy has to be sent via post or in person along with the admission fees.
If the applicant (who are UG courses) is shortlisted for the further process, they have to sit for a personal interview/counselling.
For confirmation of admission, students will be issued their offer letters, after which they are required to pay the required admission fees to secure their seats.

NPCG Placement

National Post Graduate College offers its students a dedicated team which handles all the placement services organized by the college. It organizes pre-placement activities like mock interviews, expert talks, seminars to boost the confidence of students. In the previous academic year, 170 students got a placement with an average package of INR 2.50 LPA and highest package of INR 10 LPA. Canteen: There is a canteen in the college campus and it caters to the nutritional needs of students and teachers in most hygienic conditioned on subsidized rates.
Sports: There is a full-time permanent faculty for sports and Physical Education under whose able guidance and directions various sports activities, competitions, tournaments and events are organised. Students get proper training for participation in both indoor and outdoor games. Inter degree collegiate cricket tournaments and Annual athletic needs are held by the Department of Sports and Physical Education. Students are provided equipment and facilities to participate in sports events organised by other agencies and institutions of Higher Education. Special training to girls’ students is given for self-defence.

NPGC: Dream or Doom

Admission:

A student who wishes to apply for a Bachelor of Arts course in National PG College needs to have a score of a minimum of 45% in their 12th class and to apply a student must visit the college itself to complete the application procedure. The application fee for a student who wants to enroll in BA is 800/-. Once the application is submitted student can collect the application letter and appear in the entrance exam that considers 3 major sections: General Knowledge, Reasoning, and English Grammar. The exam itself is not very hard and self-preparation can help you get your desired subjects, the student who performed well and is on the top of the merit list gets into the regular courses, and the rest are put into the self-finance course where the difference between them is that self-finance students have to pay a slightly higher fee than the regular student. The online registration process can be a bit better since a person is unable to upload their documents on the website when trying to enroll in NPGC.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My subject combination was Psychology, English, and Mathematics, where I was particularly interested in the subject psychology since it intrigued me. There are 1 faculty per subject i.e. 1 teacher for approximately 90 students and most of the faculty are NET-qualified professor though some guest faculty members are also there to deal with the curriculum subjects. The English department is particularly good and knows what they are teaching and how to shape a student's mindset and career. 1 year in NPGC consists of 2 semesters and in 1 semester total of 2 internals, 1 assignment, and 1 main external exam takes place. The test has an average difficulty but the exams are considerably difficult and long, hence one has to attend the classes to get a gist of what can be important for the examination.

National PG is best for BCom and BSC

Due to covid protocol, we have got the admission based on merit But generally, the admission is done based on an entrance test There is a system of reservation. You can get the application form from the administration office or you can fill the form online on the official site of the college. After filling out the form you will get your admit card for the entrance test. After entrance test results are declared based on the entrance result your merit is formed and fin, an ally on the basis of this merit, they will call you for counseling there you have to choose your subject and pay the fees.

I would like to say that this college is the most disciplined in Lucknow either in any form The college conduct exams on regular basis. This college is the only college to conduct exams on time. To pass the exams you have to study what teachers thought you in class. They also conduct 2 unit tests every semester. If we talk about faculty so faculty is very good they teach you in class and provide you the notes but to be honest there are few faculty who are not so good I don't know how they get their job

Honest review

The eligibility for the course was the 12th pass with any subject. The application form, application fees, and application dates were available on the website of the college where I found everything about the college. I didn't avail of any reservation benefits. I think everything was good in the admission process.

I chose this course because I want to do something in business and this course will help me with that. The faculty is very good and teachers are also supportive and the student ratio is 110 per class approx. I don't exactly know the qualification of the faculty but their teaching method is really good. There are always term exams within 2-3 months and to pass that was a bit easy
