Nirmala College, Muvattupuzha Admission 2024: Application process
Nirmala College was established in the year 1955 in Ernakulam District, Muvattupuzha, Kerala. Affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala, the college offered only UG courses in the beginning with PG courses introduced in the year 1965.
At present, Nirmala College offers various UG and PG courses including BA, B.Sc, B.Com, BCA program each of 3-years duration along with MA, MTTM, MHRM, MCA programs of 2-years duration. In addition to it, the college also offers Ph.D program of minimum 2-years duration under 6 specializations.
- For admission to any UG program offered by the college, candidates should have passed 10+2 in the relevant discipline.
- Admission to UG course is given through Centralized Admission Process (CAP) conducted by Mahatma Gandhi University
- Candidates who have completed Graduation Degree in relevant discipline are eligible to apply for admission to Post Graduate course.
- Those who have passed Bachelor's Degree with at least 50% marks are eligible to get admission to MHRM course.
- Admission to Post Graduate Course is given through PGCAP conducted by the Mahatma Gandhi University.
- Candidates with 55% marks (50% for the reserved category) in Master’s Degree course are eligible for admission to the Ph.D. program.
- Students are admitted to the Ph.D on the basis of their performance in Written Aptitude Test (WAT) held by the university.
- The application form is provided on the website of Mahatma Gandhi University. Payment of the application fee shall be done through online mode only.
- Candidates seeking admission to the Ph.D course shall apply via online mode through the official university website.

At the postgraduate level, Nirmala College offers 8 courses including MCA LTE, and M.Com (Self-Finance). The PG level programs comprise MA under 4 specializations, MSc with 4 disciplines, along with M.Com, MTTM and MHRM program. Candidates who have passed Graduation in a relevant discipline and studied the respective subject as the main subject are eligible for admission to PG level courses. Nirmala College offers the Ph.D program of minimum 2-years duration with 6 specializations. Candidates who have passed Master’s Degree program in relevant discipline with minimum 55% marks (50% for SC, ST candidates) from a recognized University. Admission to the course is done on the basis of the written aptitude test (WAT) followed by interview round.

Candidates seeking admission to UG or PG program shall apply online for CAP through the website of the university. Candidates should register and then fill the relevant application form available on the official website. Applicants could apply for more than one course at a time. Payment of the fee shall be done through online mode only. The application process of Ph.D. course is different and candidates must visit the website of Mahatma Gandhi University to apply for admission.
Steps to Apply for UG and PG courses:
- Visit the official MGU website
- Click on “UG-CAP” or “PG-CAP” button
- Follow the instructions and register with valid details
- Create a password and use it to log in to the account
- Now, hit “Pay Now” button to make the payment online
- Subsequently, candidate will be redirected to the application page
- Fill in the application form and upload all the mandatory documents
- Now, click the submit button to complete the application procedure
- Take out the print of the application form for future use

UG: Candidates shall submit the application fee of INR 600 (INR 300 for SC, ST candidates) through Debit, Credit card or Net Banking
PG: Applicants shall make the payment of INR 1000 (INR 500 for SC, ST candidates) through Net Banking, Credit or Debit card.

- Eligibility Certificate from Mahatma Gandhi University (if the candidate has passed +2 from other board except for CBSE, ISCE)
- Migration Certificate
- Caste certificate (in the case of SC/ST candidates)
- Community Certificate along with non-creamy layer certificate(as per Government rules)
- Candidates who wish to avail bonus marks shall produce the relevant certificate
Steps to Apply for Ph.D:
- Visit the official MGU website
- click Equivalency-Eligibility Online Portal and click on “Apply Online” link
- Create the account with valid email id and phone number
- A registration id and password will be sent to the registered email id
- Log in to the account and fill the application form
- Upload the mandatory documents and pay the application fee only
- Submit the form
