Panchakot Mahavidyalaya Admission

The admission procedure of the college is entirely online and the applicant does not have to come to the college at all. A new applicant is only allowed to enter the college premises on the day of commencement of the new session.

The admission is merit-based and the college usually releases the first merit list along with the admission list a week after applications close. Depending on the number of applications received, several merits lists are released. 

Only the students whose names appear on the admission list are qualified to take admission to the institute. The presence of a name in the merit list does not guarantee the right to take admission.

If seats remain vacant, a new form of fill-up can be released to fill up the remaining seats.

How to Apply?

  • Aspiring candidates have to register at the college website once the form fill-up date is announced.
  • After opening the form, the applicants then need to fill up all the necessary details required in the form.
  • The documents also need to be uploaded during the application. 
  • After submitting the application form, the applicant then needs to pay the fee.
  • The option for that can be found under the fee tab on the homepage.
  • Depending on the course selected the application fees to vary, although there is a special corona discount of INR 300 just for this semester.
  • Candidates can also choose to apply for both Hons and program courses in the same application form.

Panchakot Mahavidyalaya Facilities

  • Hostel: The institute has two separate hostels for boys and girls. The capacity of the boys’ hostel is 60 students while the capacity of the girls’ hostel is 40. There is a common room in both the hostels and they’re equipped with all the necessary amenities to make for a comfortable stay. There are ample space and furniture, LED TV for entertainment, 24 hours supply of UV treated drinking water, and a games room. Both the hostels have a warden and some helpers to assist him.
  • Library: The College has a completely digitized library with over 19000 books. The library also subscribes to 5 journals to keep the students up to date with the happening in their fields and around 60 multimedia literature. The library is well furnished and has a seating capacity of 60 students.
  • Gymnasium: To promote health consciences and build discipline among the student body, the institute has a gym on its campus. Students that want to improve themselves and stay fit even during their studies can hit the gym and sweat it out. The gym is fully operational and has all the equipment that one can ever need.
  • IT Infrastructure: The IT infrastructure at the college is well developed and is held together by Wi-Fi speeds of up to 2 Mbps. There are 30 PCs in the computer center and 97 PIV of higher PCs. 80 LAN terminals provide connectivity options.
  • Classrooms: The College has around 30 well-furnished and clean classrooms to provide an erudite environment for the students to inhabit.
  • Laboratories: There are a total of 6 labs in the institute that render practical learning to the students whenever required. The labs follow modernized procedures and are fully air-conditioned.
  • Parking facility: There is ample space on the campus where visitors or the students can park their vehicles. A separate parking facility helps to keep the college decluttered and exude a professional vibe.
  • Sports: The sports area in the college helps the students relax and provide them with a place to hang out during the free periods. Equipment for various games is kept readily available so that students can indulge in sports to their heart's content. Panchakot Mahavidyalaya Faculty

The institute has a faculty strength of around 48 against a student strength of about 1830 students. This roughly translates to 36 students per teacher which is an ideal ratio. This allows the teachers to fully focus on teaching the class as a lower teacher to student ratio is directly linked to higher learning outcomes. Out of these teachers, only 20 are full time and permanent staff.

The college is spearheaded by the principal Spatrishi Chakraborty and he is assisted by his cohort of staff. Among the 20 teachers, 4 hold Ph.D. degrees, 2 are MPhil holders, 1 has MCom, 9 are qualified with MA, 3 have MSc and a single one has MLib.
