What students say about Shaheed Bhagat Singh College - [SBSC]

Likes

  • If you are preparing for any government exam like UPSC CSE, UPSC CDS, AFCAT, or SSC CGL, then taking up humanities courses is the best choice, as I am also a UPSC CSE aspirant.
  • Prominent companies come and offer internship and placement opportunities in the field of data analysis and profiles related to tally, etc., despite not having a good idea about it.
  • Placements and job facilities are also very good at this college. Students become eligible from the 5th semester for campus placements.
  • If one gets the best marks in the entrance, then he is eligible for a discount.
  • There is an excellent football cricket team that organizes an annual tournament all over Delhi University and societies, which helps in developing leadership qualities in students.
  • For those who dont know, it means that the college has excellent infrastructure and facilities, including the canteen, restrooms, and sports equipment and facilities.
  • This is the best college that I know, where there are the best teachers for all subjects, according to my best teachers in India.

Dislike

  • Maths honours is not one of those courses in which we get placement opportunities, but a few companies did come. However, the placements and internships were unofficial, so I didnt take part in them.
  • Placements are provided by SBSC, but the placement ratios here are not good, even though the average placement is 4 lacs, which is very low in my opinion.
  • The students from very poor backgrounds can have their academic fees waived upon proper investigation.
  • There is only one large ground present in the college where you can play any sport you want.
  • The college does not have a hostel facility, nor is the mess fees very low at 6-7K for a year, as it is a government college.
  • The college does not have a hostel, so students from outside Delhi have to rent expensive rooms in nearby areas.

Placement Experience:

Colleges provide campus placements and also a good package but the number of placements is very less in comparison to the number of students. The percentage of students who get placement is very less. I want to be an entrepreneur and plan to start my career after graduation till then I am looking for an internship that helps me to get exposure and learn how the industry works and helps me identify opportunities in them.

Remarks:

Eligibility for admission was 12th pass with 60 % and in addition to it we have to give an entrance exam named CUET ( Central University Entrance Test ). The application form can be easily found on the CUET website ( i.e, cuet.samarth.ac.in ).

Placement Experience:

Mostly B.com Hons and B.com Prog and Eco Hons students are got placed. Around 60% of students get placed who applied. The highest package is around 23LPA. An average package is 5.67 LPA. Overall it's good.

Remarks:

First, fill out the CUET form. The result will be released and You have to fill out the preference list which includes which college which course you give the 1st priority then 2nd priority and so on. Delhi University will allot you a college according to your Score in CUET and also consider your reservation category. Then you have to pay the fees to freeze your college Then you will be eligible for an Upgrade otherwise you will be out of the race.

Course Curriculum Overview:

In our college the faculty is very good. I have chosen BCom(Hons.) Corse because i wanted to MBA after my graduation and want to work as finance manager of the company. So that this course will help me to get the knowledge of finance i.e. from where to get finance, where to use it and how to use it.

Placement Experience:

After semester 4 students can go for placements in the placement cell. Many companies visit our college annually like KPMG, PWC, Deloitte, Accenture, and ZS Associates to provide placements. The average package is INR 4.69LPA. The highest package is INR 10LPA. about 60% of students got placements who opted for placements. My plan after completing my degree is to do a job for one-two year and after that, I will do MBA.

Remarks:

Prior to 2022, admission was based on the merit of class 12th. But after that, the central government introduced an entrance exam for admissions. Common university entrance test(CUET) was introduced and from now onwards cuet will be conducted every year for entrance to government colleges like Delhi University. Application form(6 April-26 June) of cuet was released by NTA(National test agency) which cost me ? 1300 at that time. After the exam was conducted, and the result was declared then students have to register on the DU website for further admission process costing. 550. College was allotted to students according to preferences and marks in CUET. There were many reservation benefits like OBC, ST, and SC. I was allowed Shaheed Bhagat Singh College. The admission process was very long actually and our colleges started on 2nd November.
