Government Engineering College Kozhikode (GECK) Admission 2024: UG & PG Admission, Application process

GECK offers B.Tech program at UG level under 5 different streams. Admission to the B.Tech program requires a valid KEAM score or equivalent state level/national level examination score. Candidates can apply online by visiting the official website of GECK on payment of INR 800 (INR 400 for SC/ST) as application fee.

• Age Limit: 17 years as on December 31 of the admission year for B. Tech & 25 years for Lateral Entry program.
• For all streams, students belonging to SEBC with a total annual family income up to INR .4.5 lakhs will be provided with relaxation of 5% marks i.e. 45% marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry put together.
• SC/ST students require only a pass in qualifying examination.
• Students, who have passed their qualifying examination from outside the State of Kerala, shall produce a certificate of recognition at the time of admission.
• For Lateral Entry, students shall have passed Diploma in Engineering awarded by the State Board of Technical Education or equivalent after undergoing an institutional course of at least 3 years and must have minimum of 60% marks (50% for SC/ST) in Diploma.
• Lateral Entry will be permitted only to the branch of Engineering in which they have obtained the Diploma or corresponding qualification.

Government Engineering College Kozhikode (GECK) B.Tech first year Admission: Candidates have to qualify the State Level Entrance examination conducted by the Commissioner of Entrance Examinations or State level/National level Entrance Examination approved by the Government of Kerala as equivalent.

1. They shall also satisfy the conditions regarding age and physical fitness as prescribed by the Calicut University.
2. Criteria for selection and method of admission to merit/management seats for Engineering degree courses conducted by Government/Aided/Self-financing colleges affiliated to University of Calicut shall be governed by the rules/regulations framed by the Commissioner of Entrance Examinations or other competent authority appointed by the Government of Kerala.

Admission to Diploma Holders: Candidate must have passed 10+3 diploma in engineering with minimum 50% marks in second and third year from recognized university.

1. Diploma holders with 60% marks (50% in case of SC/ST) are also eligible for admission to the 3rd semester (regular full-time batch) engineering degree course (B.Tech.) under the lateral entry scheme provided they qualify the Entrance Examination conducted for the lateral entry scheme by the state Government.
2. These students are not required to pass any previous papers of the combined first and second semesters. Admission of all candidates under the lateral entry scheme shall be completed.

GECK invites application for 2-year full-time M.Tech program from the eligible candidates in 3 different streams such as Signal Processing (AE&I), Energy Systems Analysis and Design (ME), Computer Aided Process Design (Ch.E).  Candidates need to have valid GATE score for admission.

Candidates will be shortlisted through the Centralized admission procedure (CAP) and considered for further admission process by the university purely on merit basis.

Note: For PG programmes, 3 % of the total seats are reserved for physically Handicapped candidates. Candidates with minimum 40% disability certified by the Medical Board are eligible to apply.
