Sree Saraswathi Thyagaraja College (STC) Pollachi  was established in the year 1997. It is a self-financed and co-educational institute. The year 1997 was the Golden Jubilee year of the independence of India. The college was established by V.S.V. Vidhyaa Mandir, a charitable trust, which had then completed its 16th year. The trust recognized the requirements of higher education and established the college with a vision to offer collegiate education to the students belonging to the rural backgrounds of Pollachi and surrounding areas.

The institute strives to impart value-based education as well as training to the students in order to meet the demands of growing and competitive environment. Affiliated to Bharathiar University, the college offers a gamut of courses to groom the students and make them fit for the industry.
