St. Xavier's College, Ranchi was started by the Ranchi Jesuit Society, on July 3, 1944. The college offers a number of Undergraduate, Postgraduate as well as Vocational courses. The major courses offered by the college includes BBA, B.Sc, B.Ed, B.Com, BA, and MCA. The admission criteria is different for each program. The college also reserves seats for students belonging to various categories. The reservation of seats for different categories at St. Xavier’s Ranchi are: General - 50%, OBC - 27%, SC - 15%, and ST - 8%.
- Admission to most of the UG courses are based on the merit of the candidates and they don’t need to appear for any entrance test.
