Symbiosis College of Arts and Commerce (SCAC), under the aegis of the Symbiosis Institute, was established in 1983 in Pune. Admissions to all courses are based on merit achieved in the qualifying examination. Applicants are supposed to apply online on the official website of the college, post the declaration of the results of XIIth. The steps to apply are mentioned below: 

How to apply?

Download and fill in the pre-merit application form. 

  • Pay the application fee in the prescribed manner. 
  • Send the filled in pre-merit application form to the college along with the payment challan. This can be done either by post or in person. 
  • Keep checking for the merit list on the official website. 

If the student’s name appears on the merit list, the student must report to the college in the given time span along with the required documents. Once the documents have been verified by the college, the student must fill in the online application form and pay the admission fee within two days.

In the recent campus placement cycle a total of 412 students participated out of which 122 students received placements.   • Library: The library has a total area 2500 sq. meters (stack room and reading room) in a total of 4 floors. It houses a total of 39842 books, 46 journals, 27 magazines and 20 daily newspapers. It also has an online library available. 
  • Hostel: There are three hostels provided by the college, two of which are for girls while one is for boys. The hostel preferences are allotted on the basis of merit achieved in XIIth standard. 
  • Medical Insurance: Every student is covered under a unique group of medical insurance scheme for hospitalisation up to INR 50000 in case of non-accidental injuries INR 1,00,000 in case of traffic accidents.

Ans. Generally, the college does accept lateral entry. However, this year they will not be accepting admissions through lateral entry due to the COVID Situation. 

Ques. When will the admission forms for SCAC Pune be available? Is there a facility for paid seats in BCom?

Ans. The admission forms will be available as soon as the 12th standard results are declared. No, there is no facility for paid seats in BCom. All admissions are solely based on merit in the qualifying examination. 

Ques. What is the approximate SCAC Pune cut-off for the BA and BCom courses?

Ans. The approximate cut off for the BA course is 89.20% and the cut off for BCom is 92%.
