Bareilly College was established in 1837 and was first opened as a Government School in 1837 under the Liberal Government of Sir Charles Metcalfe. Its courses are affiliated to Mahatama Jyotiba Phule Ruhelkhand University (MJPRU), Bareilly.

Bareilly College Under Graduate Admission 2023
The basic eligibility to apply for B.A., B.Com. and B.Sc. is pass in the Higher Secondary Examinations (10+2) of the state board or CBSE or any other equivalent examination with an aggregate of 45% marks in all the subjects. There is relaxation of 5% marks for reserved category.
The courses extend to the duration of 3-years and admission is granted based on merit in qualifying exam. For admission to LL.B. and B.Ed., candidate must sit in entrance exam conducted by the university.

Bareilly College invites online as well as offline applications for admission to its various programs. The application process for all the courses is as follows:
- Application form and prospectus can be obtained from the college office.
- Application forms can also be downloaded from the official website.
- Application fee including registration charges is INR 150 which may be paid online or through Demand Draft.
- Duly fill the application form and send the same to the admission office of the college.
- Authorities will scrutinize the application form and prepare the merit list which will be displayed on official website.
- Selected candidates are needed to visit the college for physical counselling on a prescribed date and time.
