UCC, Aluva Scholarships

To provide financial assistance to students, Union Christian College provides various scholarships. These are:

  1. Dr. P.C. Alexander Scholarship- The Annual interest of the amount of Rs. 600 which was donated by H.E. Dr. P. C Alexandar, Governor of Maharashtra will be used for the award of scholarships to eligible students.
  2. P. G. Nair Memorial Fellowship- Interest which is accrued annually from an endowment of Rs. 11,00,000/- shall be used to provide Fellowship to brilliant Malayalam research scholars.
  3. Loan Scholarships –Under this scheme an interest shall be available on the endowed capital every year. Students need to execute a bond that the loan shall be repaid after they start earning.
    • Liberty Loan Scholarship Allocation for the current year- Rs. 10,000.00
    • Trinity loan scholarship from Madapad, Alummootil Foundation Allocation for the current year- Rs. 5,300.00
    • Vidawan P.G.Nair Loan Scholarship- Rs. 10,600.00

  4. Kulangara Scholarship – Under this scheme there are 6 scholarships of Rs. 2000/- each in which there shall be one each for the second year BA and B.Sc., third year BA and B.Sc. and second year MA and M.Sc. classes. The selection of students for the scholarship shall be done on the basis of merit and need in consultation with the scholarship committee constituted by the college staff council.
  5. Kano Yamomoto Scholarship- This scholarship is given to students selected on the basis of merit cum means by a committee. It is given from the interest of the amount gifted by Prof. Kano Yamomoto of International Christian University, Tokyo, through the UBCHEA.
  6. National Loan Scholarships- This scholarship is given to Indian nationals to all courses after Matriculation of SSLC leading to 1st degree post- graduate and for post MA/ M.Sc. stages.
  7. Government of India Scholarships to the students from non-Hindi speaking States. It is awarded strictly on the basis of merit.

To cater to the needs of the students and the staff, Union Christian College, Aluva offers a wide variety of facilities. These are:

  1. Library: To cater to the educational needs of the community, Union Christian College has a library fully automated with international software Alice for Windows which has been networked with all the teaching departments. It also has a digital library developed with Greenstone software containing educational resources for the teachers and students. Work has been going on to establish another spacious library at the campus.

Kid’s Dale Day Care Centre: As a facility to the young teachers with small children, union Christian College has a kid’s day centre where children spend their time by singing, dancing, playing, colouring, eating and sleeping.
