Admissions to all courses are on the basis of the entrance tests conducted by Banaras Hindu University. To qualify for admissions, candidates must not only fulfill the eligibility criteria but also achieve the minimum qualifying marks in the Entrance Test. The marks required are:
- For General and OBC categories, the candidates must achieve at least 35% of the Topper’s marks in the examination.
- For SC and ST categories, the candidates must achieve at least 25% of the Topper’s marks in the examination.
- For the RET examination, candidates must achieve 35% of the total marks in the examination irrespective of category.
How to Apply?
The steps to apply are mentioned below for the entrance examinations.
Step 1: Log on to the BHU Website and click on Admissions. On the new webpage, click on the link with the respective exam name.
Step 2: Register on the portal and then fill up the identification form.
Step 3: Next, fill in the online application and select the courses.
Step 4: Scan the photographs and signature as per instruction given in the portal and upload it.
Step 5: After clicking the Confirm button, pay the application fee through the online payment method or through a Challan at HDFC.
Step 6: Print the online application form as well as the payment receipt.
Documents Required
The documents required to be carried while reporting to the college for admission, on being intimated about the same, include:
- Transfer Certificate.
- Migration Certificate, if passed from a university other than BHU (To be submitted not later than 90 days of admission).
- High School Certificate/equivalent Certificate.
- Intermediate (+2) Certificate/equivalent Certificate.
- Mark sheets of High School/equivalent & Intermediate (+2) / equivalent.
- Mark sheet of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees (if applicable)

Ques. Can I get admission in B.Com honors if I didn’t have Commerce as a subject?
Ans. Yes, you are eligible for admission. Please note, however, that you must have a minimum of 50% aggregate in 12th with any commerce related subject. These could include Economics / Maths / Computer Science / Finance / Financial Markets Management / Vocational courses (related to Commerce).
