Yashwantrao Charan Warana Mahavidyalaya (YCWM), Kolhapur is named in the memory of ex-deputy prime minister late Shri. Yashwantrao Chavan, who was shares a close friendship with late. Shri. Tatyasaheb Kore and he was a great source of inspiration for the institution.  It was dream of founder president to create “new human race” with the help of higher education. The institute always works in achieving only one mission that is  “to become an academy of excellence in higher education and human resources development in rural area." And this goal according to them can be achieved by standing united and focused on transforming  of rural youth of Warana, moving in the direction of self-reliance, confidence and enlightenment.
