Berhampore Girl's College is a women's college in Berhampore, in Gora Bazar Area of Murshidabad district, in the state of West Bengal in India. Berhampore Girls' College was established in 1946. It is the first government sponsored college in the state of West Bengal. It is affiliated to the University of Kalyani. 

The college is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC). It was accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), and awarded a B grade with 72% marks. 

It offers Honours and General courses in science and humanities (B.Sc. and BA) with a total number of fourteen departments (Seven in Arts faculty, Seven in Science faculty) supported by 36 permanent, 15 temporary and 10 part-time teachers.

All admission procedures are done strictly on the basis of the merit list/marks obtained in 10+2 examinations. Seats are reserved for ST, SC, OBC and physically handicapped candidates in all courses. Top courses are the B.Sc. as well as BA courses that it offers in UG courses. 1 Year Certificate courses are also provided. MA is offered as Post graduation.

The college also offers several support services, such as a central library, several seminar (departmental) libraries, a computer lab, language lab, Career Counselling Cell, a health center, sports facilities, common-room, canteen, hostels, housing for the staff, a grievance redress cell and an NSS unit.

Berhampore Girl's College Placements

The college has its own placement wing which looks upon the needs of the graduates as well as the companies. The placement cell has its own aim and objectives and it works round the year. This college also offers internship models for students. Special alumni team members also help the students with job references in their companies.

The placement wing helps students in career counselling. The special programs like communication skills, presentation workshops help us to understand the interview structure and the mode of questions.

Berhampore Girl's College Scholarships

The college has provided scholarships to various caste categories. Prizes and awards are distributed for the students who have achieved great heights in their fields. For Economically weak students, some amount of Tuition fees are waved off. 

The students belonging to the SC and ST category receive stipend from the state government every year. Some of the meritorious students receive Merit-cum-Means Scholarship from the Govt. of West Bengal. Students belonging to the Minority Community avail the Post-matric Scholarships from the WBMDFC, Govt. of West Bengal. 

The Kanyashree Prakalpa is provided to the students Below Poverty Line by the Govt. of West Bengal. Quite a few students are provided with the scholarship under Sitaram Jindal Foundation.

Berhampore Girls' College contains all the major facilities. Facilities available are Girls Hostel, Gym, Library, Cafeteria, Auditorium, Laboratories, Seminar Hall, Sports, and Guest Room. The College has its own Anti-Ragging cell. 

NSS: The College has an active NSS Unit which helps in providing seminars and camps in two remote villages adopted by the unit. They provide health related and gender awareness program.

Sports Facilities: The College organizes its own Annual sports day in the main ground. Sports like Kho-Kho, Cricket, Basket Ball, Badminton etc., are being played there. Indoor games like carom, chess, and Table tennis are also played. The College also provides a gymnasium with modern multi-gym facilities like treadmill, bench press, etc., in the college campus for students and staff.

Library: The Amiya Granthagar the main library of the college is situated in the southern wing. Covering an area of 5670 sq. ft. The library has in its stock more than thirty thousand useful books and a wide number of journals and encyclopedia. Books are issued twice a week to Honours students and once a week to General Students for a fourteen days. There are seminar libraries of 8 subjects – Bengali, English, Sanskrit, Philosophy, Political Science, Sociology, Physics and Chemistry. The library is stocked with 34482 books and 10 journals

Hostel: The college offers Hostel facilities to its out stations students. There are two Hostel buildings, the old hostel is situated near barrack square, and the new hostel is situated adjacent to the staff quarters in the southern end of the college campus. Hostels are completely secured for girls. Hostels are managed by the by the resident student under the governance of the Superintendent. Students should maintain strict rules and regulations inside the hostel and the campus.

Computer Lab: The college has formed a computer center to train interested students. The center was opened in 1995 with due permission from the University of Calcutta (to which the college was affiliated to till 1998).The aim of Berhampore Girls' College Computer Centre is to give maximum exposure to the students in the field of computers at a basic level. It offers courses that would prove beneficial to students in their careers.
