College of Veterinary Sciences was established in the year 2008 to provide undergraduate courses in the field of veterinary science. Situated in Proddatur, Kadapa in Andhra Pradesh, it is a part of the Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University, Tirupati as a constituent college.

COVS Kadapa Courses Offered 

College of Veterinary Science offers one undergraduate, one postgraduate, and one doctor of philosophy in the faculty of veterinary science. The admission procedure differs for every course offered. Duration: 5 ½ years
Eligibility: 10+2 with a minimum of 50% with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as subjects. (47.5% for SC/ST)

M.V.Sc. Duration: 2 years
Eligibility: Bachelor’s degree in the field of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry from Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University or Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University or any institution recognised by ICAR or VCI with a GPA of 2.5/4.00 or 6.00/10.00 or 60% marks in the traditional system.
Ph.D. Veterinary Science Duration: 2 years
Eligibility: Master’s degree in the field of Veterinary Science from Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University or Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University or any institution recognised by ICAR or VCI with a GPA of 2.7/4.00 or 6.5/10.00 or 70% marks in the traditional system.

COVS Kadapa Admissions

Admission to the undergraduate course is done partly through combined counselling held by Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University (85% seats) and partly through the Veterinary Council of India (15% seats).

Admission to the postgraduate course and doctoral course is done through the admission process held by Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University (for candidates belonging to the state of Andhra Pradesh) and also through the admission procedure held by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (for non-residents of Andhra Pradesh).

How to Apply for B.V.Sc.?

  • Candidates seeking admission through the combined counselling held by Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University must go to the official website and fill the application form.
  • The University will release a list on the basis of which the candidate will be allotted certain college(s).
  • The allotment will be based on the marks obtained in the state level common entrance test EAMCET.
  • The University might release subsequent lists on the basis of which a candidate will be allotted to other colleges too.
  • The candidate will be required to select a college from the colleges allotted to him/her.
  • The candidate will then be required to report to the college for counselling and document verification.
  • If the candidate does not select any college, the candidate will not be granted admission to any college.

  • Candidates wanting to take admission through Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University must go to the official website and fill in the application form.
  • The candidate will also have to give an entrance exam conducted by the university.
  • Based on the marks obtained in the latest degree and the marks obtained in the entrance exam, the candidate will be considered for admission.
  • If the candidate gets selected for admission, he/she will have to report to the college for counselling and document verification. 
  • Candidates wanting to take admission through the Indian Council of Agricultural Research must go to the official website and fill in the application form.
