What students say about Lakshmibai College - [LBC]

Likes

  • The course I selected was awesome because I love studying it, and the faculty was also awesome because they helped me a lot.
  • Though I did not do an internship, the reviews I got from my friend regarding the company that offers internships were positive. They mentioned that the company and the colleagues there are awesome and friendly.
  • There is no company that visited our college, but at the start of March, our college always organizes an internship fair.
  • Even the students who score well are also awarded on the annual day organized by the college.
  • The sports facility of the college is very good, and the college is ranked 1st amongst all colleges of DU in sports.
  • However, there are a number of PGs located around the college within walking distance that have a feasible pay structure and good facilities, including Wi-Fi and food, etc.
  • Now, this year, you have to crack the CUCET exam to get admission to DU and achieve a good percentage.

Dislike

  • It was a pass course and graduation in humanities. So the subjects were also not professional, or we can say job-oriented. Therefore, there were no placements, and no companies came for interviews.

  • Although the annual fees are very low, our college still provides fee concessions to those who are not financially strong.
  • It is very tough to get into a hostel because of the lack of rooms

Placement Experience:

Placement cell is there, and even a huge number of students become the art of it. But I didn't become part of it, because I left the college in between. After that, I am doing my bachelor's in elementary education.

Remarks:

That time there is not cucet, so I directly fill the form and course. After coming merit list, Saw the merit. Actually, I applied for the b.com program, so there is not much percentage required, I got admission to 1st list in Lakshmi Bai college.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose Ba programme because I want to do civil services exam and this course is very helpful in the preparation. My main interest is in political science and history that's why I took this course. Faculty is very good in Delhi University every college. Teaching methods of some professors is outstanding . All the faculty members are well qualified and their behaviour towards students is quite cool. Exam is conducted in the end of every semester and To be very honest exam level is very okay if you study well and if not it's difficult for you to pass the exam.

Remarks:

My course is ba programme which is chosen by most of the students as it consists of 2 main discipline subjects and after this course you'll have an great understanding of both subjects. My admission was done by cut-off (12th class) I got a reservation benefit as my category is SC. Application form and other details are available on DU official website. Now admission is done by Entrance exam {CUET} .

Course Curriculum Overview:

The faculty is great, the lessons take place on time. However, communication is a little lacking at times. As per the course completion, maybe this semester's short amount of time made it impossible. Exams were a little unpredictable but bearable.

Remarks:

Our entrance was done by the CUET examination introduced for the first time. Only one option to opt for a college and a specific course was given, not too much freedom. So maybe that can be improved, when marks can determine the different colleges that can be taken up.

Placement Experience:

The placement at my college is average. For the final semester, students become eligible for campus placements. On 1 March zeo & studio1 company visited my college for placement. The average and highest package is approx. 2lakhs. Minimum students get placements.

Remarks:

I found the application form, fees, and date on Google and the admission process is online, there is no entrance exam when I have taken admission in Delhi university. I haven't got any Reservation benefits but there are many benefits given to students.

Placement Experience:

Our college provides internships opportunities for every students of all years. They also conduct timely surveys to ask students opinions and suggestions. Placement opportunities are available for third year students.

Remarks:

Lakshmibai College is a girls' college. Admission for the BA program course was merit based. I got my admission at the fourth cut-off. Fees are also convenient. There are scholarship opportunities and compensations for people with low income. I will be safe in my college. Students and teachers are always ready to help and guide. For placements purpose, there is a wings society of our college that come up with amazing internship opportunities. They have social media handle to update students about the opportunities and also circulate the same info in the different course groups so that information can reach all the students. They also conduct various cv building and interview training programs for all students of all courses. The major problem of this college is water availability on the premises.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose B.Sc. Mathematics because I liked Mathematics as a Subject but I did not realize I only liked applied maths, however, this curriculum includes a lot of pure maths and theorems. There are around 60 students in a batch, the faculty number is not enough in our college, we were not assigned any teacher for some of the subjects for around one month. Although the quality of the faculty is good, most of them teach well if you pay attention in class. Some of the teachers will just read your notes or readings and you will have to completely study everything but they are open to questions and take all the queries. There are class tests once every semester, it's pretty easy, and practicals are easy as well. For the theory papers, you just have to refer to the previous year's papers 20 days before the exam. It's pretty easy to pass and even score well.

Remarks:

Anyone with Science in their 12th standard could apply. The application form will be available on Delhi University's Site, we had to fill out the form and submit important documents like the 10th mark sheet, 12th mark sheet, Migration certificate, etc. After which the cutoffs were released on the site itself. After checking the eligibility, we were supposed to take admitted to our desired college and if we wanted to change in the subsequent cutoff List, 1000 Rs was deducted for cancellation.
