Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, often referred to as JNMC, is a constituent college of Aligarh Muslim University.  The college offers an MBBS Programmes, 22 post graduate courses and 9 Ph.D programmes. It has an intake capacity of 150 for undergraduate and 146 for postgraduate. Admissions to the courses are done on the basis of the NEET UG and PG examinations, and an entrance test is conducted for th ePh.D programmes. JNMC AMU Admissions

Admissions to the undergraduate and postgraduate courses are done on the basis of the NEET UG and PG examinations respectively. After giving the examination, the candidate must register for the online counselling session, during which JNMC must be selected under choice of college. The candidate must also apply at the website of Aligarh Muslim University after the examination results are declared. 

Steps to Apply for NEET

  • Visit the official website ie. https://www.ntaneet.nic.in/ and click on the ‘New Registration’ link. Click on Apply online and fill in the form. 
  • On receiving the Login credentials, sign in using the same and complete the Application form. 
  • Upload the documents and pictures as required. 
  • Pay the application fee through UPI App/ Debit card/ Credit Card/ Net Banking/ E-wallet.
  • Take a print out of NEET 2020 Application Form as well as of the confirmation page.

Steps to Apply for NEET PG

  • Visit the official website nbe.edu.in. Select NEET PG, and click on Proceed to Application. Fill in the required details. 
  • On receiving the application number and password, log in and fill in the details. 
  • Upload the required documents and images. 
  • Choose the appropriate exam location, exam test centre and the preferred date and time. 
  • Pay the application fee via debit card/credit card/ net banking/ e-wallet.

Steps to Apply to AMU

  • Visit the official website of AMU.
  • Register as a new user by providing details of Name, Address & course of choice.
  • Log in using the username and password generated at the time of registration.
  • Fill the form with respect to personal and academic details. Upload photograph and signature.
  • Fill the Aligarh Muslim University Admission Form and pay the application by Credit/ Debit card or through Net-Banking.
  • Cross verify the duly filled application form and click on submit.
  • Take the printout of filled form for future reference.

Post-Allotment Process

Post the allotment process, if JNMC is allotted to the candidate, the candidate must report to the university at the intimated time. The documents required to be submitted for verification process at the college include:

JNMC AMU Hostel

JNMC AMU hostel is known as the Halls of residence, of which 19 are built. 13 are reserved for boys while 6 are reserved for girls. All students of AMU must stay at the Halls of Residence unless they are residents of Aligarh or living with very close relations. The facilities include a Common Room along with indoor gaming, a Reading Room, Library, Sports Clubs and a Literary and Cultural Society.

Some of the facilities of JNMC include:

  • Library: The library has 5 lecture theatres with a seating capacity of 150 students each. It is spread over three floors and stocks more than 55,000 books on all subjects of medicine. It has been selected by the National Medical Library for its Pilot Project of “Interlinking of Government Medical College Libraries with NML”.
  • Sports Centre: Many Olympic Hockey players of India are alumni of AMU. The facilities include 15 clubs and some sub-clubs. Some of these are a riding club, Hockey Club, Tennis Club, Football Club, Gymkhana Club, Volleyball Club, Badminton Club, Basketball Club, Table Tennis Club , Gymnasium Club,  Skating Club, Physical Culture Club (Weight Lifting, Power Lifting & Body Building), Wrestling Club, Hiking & Mountaineering Club, Swimming Club, Athletic Club and Cricket Club.

Ques. What are the important NEET details? 

Ans. NEET 2020 exam will be conducted in offline mode on 26th July. It is a 3 hour long paper. Despite requests to conduct NEET twice a year, it will be conducted only once this year. Application fee for NEET examination is INR 1400. It has three sections: physics, chemistry and biology/bio-tech. Each correct answer is rewarded 4 marks, while each wrong answer deducts one mark. All questions are multiple choice. 

Ques. What are the float, freeze and withdrawal options on NEET counselling form 2020?

Ans. If the candidate is satisfied with the alloted college in the form and does not want to be considered for any more rounds of the counselling can use the Freeze option. This is also known as the Lock option. On the other hand, if the candidate is satisfied but also wants to be considered for other colleges and rounds, he can use the Float option. Lastly, if the student is not satisfied with alloted college, and does not want to appear for the subsequent rounds, he can use the withdrawal option.
