V.O. Chidambaram College offers 52 courses all together. Under UG domain it offers 15 courses (11 aided, 3 unaided, 1 satellite). Established in 1951, V.O. Chidambaram college (commonly known as VOC College) is located in a southern city of Tamil Nadu and affiliated to Manonmaniam Sundaranar University (MS University) Tirunelveli.
The college offers courses in the streams of Arts and Science. Ranked 77th in college category by NIRF, the institute offers aided and unaided undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
In terms placements, the institute has a training and placement cell which provides effective guidance and counselling to the students for their successful career placements. VO College has a creditable record of placement of its final year students and graduates.

How to Apply for V.O. Chidambaram College?
- Candidate should find the course in which he/she desires to pursue his/her career
- Candidate should check his/her eligibility to apply for the desired course
- A student who has successfully completed the Tamilnadu Higher Secondary Courses or any other course recognised by the University of Madras or equivalent to it, with appropriate branch of study in school is eligible for admission to that branch of the Bachelor’s Degree course
- For admission to Post Graduate courses (PG) a candidate must have passed the 3 years degree courses (under the 10 + 2 + 3 pattern) recognized by the University as equivalent there to.
- Application for admission should be made in the prescribed form which can be had from the College Office. There are separate application forms for admission to the B.A., B.Com., B.Sc., and PG Courses
- Candidate should not enclose any original certificates with the application. A self-addressed postcard with the application number should be attached. Incomplete applications shall be rejected
- Photocopies of the following should be enclosed along with the filled in Application submitted:
- Qualifying Examination mark Sheet.
- Three passport size photographs
- Eligibility certificate for students from other States / Universities.
- Transfer Certificate.
- Certificate of proof when admission is sought under some Special Quota / Concessions like Differently abled/ Sports Quota / NCC / Ex-Servicemen etc.
- Community Certificate (where ever applicable)
- Candidates appearing for interviews should be prepared to pay fees within a specified time, if they are selected at the interview.
- Original Certificates are to be produced at the time of admission only.
- If a candidate fails to produce the relevant certificates in original at the time of interview for admission, the admission shall be cancelled
