National Institute of Design (NID) was started in the year 2005 in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. NID is affiliated with Acharya Nagarjuna University (ANU), Guntur.

NID Vijayawada offers single full-time course i.e. Graduate Diploma Program in Design (GDPD) of four-year duration with 3 disciplines and intake of 20 in each specialization.

  • Candidates must apply for DAT prelims and main online through the website of the institute.
  • Those students who have passed 10+2 in any stream from an AIU recognized Board or PUC examination is eligible to apply for admission to GDPD course.
  • Candidates who have passed Senior Secondary Examination from National Institute of Open Schooling, with five minimum subjects are eligible to apply.
  • Admission to the program is given on the basis of the applicant's merit in DAT prelims and mains conducted by NID.
  • Candidates appearing for final year examination are also eligible to apply, provided they produce proof of having appeared at the time of online verification.
  • For Indian national in General Category, age limit to apply for admission is 20 years as on 30 June 2020.
  • For Indian national in Reserved Category, age limit to apply for admission is 23 years as on 30 June 2020.
  • For Foreign national in Overseas (Supernumerary) Category, age limit to apply for admission is 20 years as on 30 June 2020.
  • Applicants holding OCI and PIO card will apply under Overseas (Supernumerary) Category.
  • Candidates with minimum 40% marks in last qualifying examination will be eligible to apply under the overseas category.

NID Vijayawada GDPD Admission 2020

National Institute of Design offers full-time Graduate Diploma Program in Design (GDPD) course of four-year duration with 3 specializations and intake capacity of 20 in each discipline.

Those who have passed 10+2 in any discipline from a Board recognized by Association of Indian Universities (AIU) viz. CBSE, ICSE, IB, or any State Board are considered eligible to apply for admission to GDPD program.

Admission to the course is given through Design Aptitude Test (DAT) conducted by NID. Applicants are required to qualify both DAT prelims and DAT mains examination to get admission to GDPD program.

Key Points:

  • Candidates who are born on or after July 01, 1998 are eligible to apply for admission to GDPD course.
  • The upper age limit of the general category applicants of Indian nationality is 20 years.
  • Indian candidates of the reserved category are given age relaxation of 3 years.
  • For Indian physically handicapped candidates the upper age limit is 25 years as on June 30, 2020.
  • For overseas candidates, the upper age limit is 20 years as on June 30, 2020.
  • Candidates appearing for final year examination are also eligible to apply.
  • Candidates with intermediate or two-year Pre-University Examination under AIU or recognized board are also eligible to apply.
  • Candidates with General Certificate Education (GCE) examination at Advanced (A) level taken in London, Cambridge or Sri Lanka are also eligible to apply.
  • Candidates who have three-year full-time Diploma after Class 10th are also eligible.

NID Vijayawada Application Process 2020

Candidates shall fill up the application form online through the official website of NID. The payment of the application fee could be done in both online and offline modes. Firstly, candidates need to sign up or register themselves in the official website followed by filling up of the application form. Next, pay the application fees and print the form.

How to Apply

  • Visit the official website of NID.
  • Click on the Admission tab.
  • Register yourself with valid email id and mobile number.
  • Log in credentials will be sent to your registered email id.
  • Sign in to your account with your allotted id and password.
  • Now, fill up the application form.
  • Upload the mandatory documents as given below.
  • Pay the application fee via online (credit/debit card) or offline (Demand Draft) modes.
  • Demand Draft must be in favour of ‘All India Management Association’ payable at New Delhi.
  • Save the application form and print the application form.
  • Address for sending print out of application form along with Demand Draft (via speed post/Courier):
