Mangalore University, Center for Distance Education Admission 2024: UG & PG Admissions, Reservation
Mangalore University established Center for Distance Education in 2004 as per the National Education Policy to impart higher education at UG and PG level. It is accredited with ‘A’ Grade by NAAC. Mangalore University, Center for Distance Education offers programs in Social Sciences, Management, Humanities and Education.
- Applications from eligible candidates are invited in offline mode and applicants can purchase the form from a designated office of Director/Co-ordinator by remitting an amount of via bank challan or DD.
- Aspirants seeking admissions to UG and PG programs shall be admitted on the basis of merit of marks obtained in qualifying examination in aggregate.
- To be eligible for UG programs candidates should have passed 2-year PUC or 3-year Diploma recognized by the University.
- A candidate who has passed any Bachelor degree examination of Mangalore University or of any other recognized is eligible for admission to PG programs.
- Candidates seeking admissions to B.Ed program should appear in Common Entrance Test conducted by the Mangalore University.
- The eligibility to apply for the course shall remain bachelor’s degree/master’s degree in any discipline with minimum 50% marks.

Center for Distance Education BA, BBA, B.Com Admission 2023
The CDE offers admission to UG courses of BA, B.Com, and BBA. The courses shall be offered for a period of three years. The selection to the courses shall be affected on the basis of merit as per marks obtained in last qualifying examination.
A candidate who has passed the 2-year Pre-University examination conducted by the Pre-university Education Board or 3-year Diploma course duly recognized by Karnataka State Technical Education Board or equivalent examination is eligible for UG programs.

Key Points:
- Those who have passed 1 year or 2 year of a bachelor’s degree shall be given direct admission to 1 or 2 year of the concerned program.
- Candidate admitted to a degree program shall not be permitted to study simultaneously any other program from this University or any other.
Center for Distance Education MA and M.Com Admission 2023
At PG level the CDE offers MA in six subject specializations and M.Com program. The admissions are solely based on merit of marks secured by candidates in the last qualifying examination. A candidate who has passed bachelor’s degree from Mangalore University or from any other University considered equivalent is eligible for admission to these programs.

Key Points:
- Eligibility Certificate is required for the candidate who has passed the qualifying examinations outside from a state other than Karnataka.
- The medium of instruction for PG programmers shall be English only.
- However, students will be allowed to write the examinations in Kannada also.
- Final admission shall be subject to approval from Mangalore University.
Center for Distance Education B.Ed Admission 2023
B.Ed course offered by the institute is a two-year program. The course commenced from the year 2017 with an intake of 500 students. Selection will be done as per the seat matrix for reservation on the basis of total marks obtained in the Common Entrance Test. A merit list based on the total marks obtained by the candidates will be prepared by the Selection Committee. All selected candidates must report on the First day of the Pre-admission Counselling for confirming their seats.
Candidates with 50% marks in aggregate in Bachelor’s Degree and/or Master’s Degree in Science/Social Sciences/Commerce/Humanity are eligible to apply. Also, those who have a Bachelor’s in Engineering/Technology with specialization in Science and Mathematics with 55% marks or equivalent are equally eligible.

Key Points:
- There shall be relaxation of 5% marks for SC/ST/Cat-1/PWD and other categories.
- Candidates should compulsorily complete an NCTE recognized teacher education program.
- The Common Entrance Test is a 3-hour test conducted across Mangalore, Udupi, Madikeri, Mysore, Bangalore, Dharwad, Davanagere, and Gulbarga.
- Non-Karnataka candidates are required to submit the Eligibility Certificate obtained from the Registrar, Mangalore University, Mangalagangothri by remitting the prescribed fee.

Center for Distance Education Reservation
The reservation of seats to various categories in the course of B.Ed will be as given below:
- General – 50%
- SC – 15%
- ST- 3%
- Others – 32%
- In each category seats shall be reserved for Kannada Medium candidates, Women, PWD, Non-Karnataka, Defence/Ex-Service Personnel, Third Gender and Kashmiri Migrants as per rules of Mangalore University.
