Govt. TCL College was established in 1958 under Saraswati Teaching Committee and initially only consisted of art classes. The college was renamed as Janjgir, Government TCL Postgraduate College in memory of Barrister Thakur Chedilal Dhak Freedom Struggle Fighter, when he was under government in 1975. In the year 1983 Govt. TCL College came into existence as a law college. 

The college offers courses for graduate as well as post-graduate students as well as post-graduate degrees in 4 streams namely, Arts, Commerce, Science and Law. Govt. Ans. The eligibility criteria for the LLB program requires the candidate to have aggregate of 50% in class 12th from any state board or equivalent in any discipline and there is no age limit to apply for the course.

Ques. What is the procedure if a student wants to leave college mid-session and take admission in another institution?

Ans. The following actions have to be completed as per the Act in case a student wants to change college Mid-session.

  1. A written notice of the purpose of leaving the institution has to be provided.
  2. All fees have to be deposited by the student.
  3. The student needs to pay full fee for the said session.
  4. The amount of other aid, free education or scholarship etc. needs to be returned from the college.
  5. The student needs to submit a Special certificate; The image of the same has to be submitted.
  6. Students seeking a second copy of transfer certificate or conduct certificate will have to deposit Rs. 10 / - for the same.
  7. The student needs to return the Inclusion Fund on leaving the college. It will be provided at the time of taking it provided that the receipt is given. The withdrawal of the inclusion fund will not be done until six months after leaving the college.
