SMU Distance Education Study Material
The Institute provides self-learning study material to all students that can be easily accessed by students in both online and offline mode. Students can study from the digital application of the university known as EduNxt. The study material can also be collected at their respective study centers. 

SMUDE Admissions

Eligible candidates can apply either through the official website or can send a hard copy to University Headquater. The students need to submit the application with original documents. The Institute accepts admission on the basis of merit scored in the last qualifying examination. However, for admission in MBA, a student needs to appear in the SMU-DE Management Aptitude Test (SMAT). Applicants who have cleared MAT/ CAT/ GMAT with 40 percentile within the same year are exempted to appear in SMAT.

SMUDE FAQs

Ques. Which is better IGNOU or SMU-DE?
Ans. Both of the universities are one of the oldest and well-known brands for distance learning. However, both institutes have their own cons and pros. IGNOU is known for its value learning because its study material is designed by all the Ph.D./ experts in the respective field. It is easy for students to read and understand. SMU follows makes use of its EduNxt (TM) tool ensuring proactive learning while ‘on the go’ using multiple performance-enhancing tools. The difficulty level of the exams is higher in IGNOU as compared to SMUDE. 

Ques. Is it compulsory to attend classes under distance education mode?
Ans. No, attendance is not mandatory for students admitted in distance mode. They are given access to EduNxt e-learning platform to access learning resources and e-library. 

Ques. Do I need to write an entrance test for admission?
Ans. No. The admission process for most of the programs is based on the eligibility criteria mentioned above. However, for admission to MBA, a student will need to appear in the entrance test namely SMAT. 

Ques. What is the procedure to apply for the Migration/ Bonafide certificate?
Ans. If you have successfully all the semesters, then you may apply for Migration certificates. The form can be obtained by sending an mail at smuhelpdesk@smude.edu.in. One needs to clearly mention the reason for obtaining the Migration certificate. 

Ques. Are the original documents to be dispatched to the University at the time of admissions?
Ans. No. You can send a scanned copy of the original documents to the University. However, the officials may verify the original documents during the period of study. 

Ques. What is EduNxt portal?
Ans. EduNxt is a student learning portal provided by the University. To login, one can visit www.edunxt.smude.edu.in. On confirmation of admission to the Program, a student can log in to the EduNxt using their Roll number (University Registration number) as the Username and Password.
