MGM Institute of Fashion Design was established in 2011 and has since been offering professional education programs at the diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate programs in fashion design. MGM IFD has thus played a significant role in promoting the fashion industry in India. The institute has an experienced faculty including a majority of highly qualified and UGC - NET holders and currently has the strength of more than 200 students, as of 2019.

The institute offers B.Des in Fashion Design and Textile Design, M.Des in Fashion Design, Textile Design and Fashion Management program, also the institute has a 2-year diploma and 1-year certificate programs to the aspirants. Admissions are based on the marks secured by the students in the respective Institute level entrance examinations. Placement opportunities are provided to most students. Others choose higher studies or made arrangements for themselves via contacts an alumnus. All leading retailers and export houses are part of the placement drive.
