National Research Institute of Basic Ayurvedic Sciences, Pune is an autonomous organization under the aegis of Department of AYUSH, Ministry of Health and Family welfare, Govt. of India. Formerly known as Jawaharlal Nehru Ayurvedic Medicinal Plants Garden and Herbarium, its main objective is to identify DNA finger prints and Bio markers of selected medicinal plants and standardization of ayurvedic drugs. Being a leading research centre of the central council for research in Ayurvedic Sciences, it offers Post graduate and doctoral studies (Ph.D.) to aspirants having master’s degree and is GATE/CSIR/NET/PET or other equivalent entrance tests qualified, in the subject of Biochemistry and Botany. It is a recognized Research Centre with University of Pune.
