Anbil Dharmalingam Agricultural College and Research Institute (ADAC & RI) is an agricultural college established under the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University. It was originally started in Kumulur, near Lalgudi in Tiruchirappalli district in 1989 and was shifted to Navalur Kuttapattu village which is the present campus in 1992.

The institute offers B.Sc. and M.Sc. courses at undergraduate and postgraduate level in different specializations.

Admission to B.Sc. is based on the ICAR Entrance Exam. The candidate must have passed 10+2.

Admission to M.Sc.is based on a written test conducted at TNAU. Only those students who have studied in State Agricultural Universities or any other institute accredited by NAEAB (ICAR) are eligible to apply for admission.

ADAC & RI B.Sc. Agriculture Eligibility Criteria

  1. The candidate should have passed all the subjects in the qualifying examination with 10+2 years of schooling under Board of Higher Secondary Education of Government of Tamil Nadu / Central Board of Secondary Education / Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations / other State Government Boards / other recognized International Boards.
  2. The candidate must have passed the qualifying examination in maximum 2 attempts (3 for Scheduled Castes / Scheduled Castes-Arunthathiars / Scheduled Tribes).
  3. Candidates should not have completed 21 years of age on the first day of July of the admission year. (For SC/ SCA/ ST there is no age limit).
  4. A student of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University who discontinues a degree in the undergraduate programmes is not eligible for admission again.

ADAC & RI B.Sc. Agriculture Selection Criteria

  1. The candidates can get selected through National Level Entrance Examination by Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). 15% seats are reserved for them.
  2. Candidates who satisfy minimum marks requirements and maximum age limit can apply either through NRI or Industry Sponsorship quota.
    1. Under Industry Sponsorship Quota, only candidates of Indian Nationality are eligible to apply. In this, any public / private limited industry directly related to agricultural manufacturing / production related activities can sponsor one candidate once in four years by becoming a member of Agri Business Consortium (ABC) of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore.
    2. Under NRI Quota, the candidate can be NRI or a close relative of NRI.
  3. Even for foreign students who seek admission through ICCR (Indian Council for Cultural Relations), a fixed number of seats are allotted.
  4. Apart from category wise reservations, there are special reservations for differently abled (5%), Ex- servicemen (6 seats), Descendants of Freedom Fighter (1 seat), Eminent sports person (4 seats).
  5. 5% seats are reserved for candidates qualified under Vocational Stream.

Selection process is done through online counselling. Counselling in person will be conducted for special reservations and vocational stream candidates.

ADAC & RI M.Sc. Agriculture Eligibility Criteria

  1. Graduates who have completed four year undergraduate degree program in the required specialization by any one of the State Agricultural Universities (SAUs)/ Colleges affiliated to SAUs/Central Agricultural Universities (CAUs)/ICAR Deemed Universities/Central Universities with Agriculture Faculty listed by ICAR/ any other institutes accredited by NAEAB (ICAR) alone are eligible to apply.
  2. A candidate who has undergone a course credit system with a minimum CGPA of 3.00 out of 4.00 or 6.60 out of 10.00 in Bachelor’s Degree Programme can apply. (For SC/ST candidates, minimum CGPA- 6.50 out of 10.00 in bachelor’s degree).

ADAC & RI M.Sc. Agriculture Selection Criteria

  1. Candidates need to appear for an entrance examination on a specified date at TNAU, Coimbatore.
  2. The exam will be of 1 hour 15 minutes duration. Those who have applied for two subjects will have to write the exam continuously for two and half hours.
  3. The test will be of 100 marks and will consist of multiple choice questions.
  4. A valid photo I.D proof will be required for entering the entrance hall. Candidates must arrive on time. Candidates will not be allowed to carry calculators, paper, log tables, mobile or any electronic gadget, rulers, highlighters, watches etc inside the hall.
  5. Candidates must fill the OMR sheet with black ball point pen only. To mark an answer, the candidate must shade the circle and no other mark should be used.
  6. Candidates will not be allowed to leave the hall within the first 45 minutes. Candidates who fail to produce the original certificates and Provisional Certificate for which they had uploaded the scanned copies while filling application form will not be allowed to write the entrance test.
  7. The candidate will be informed of his selection to PG programme by email or SMS only.The list will also be uploaded on the official website.

How to Apply for ADAC & RI?

  1. Candidates need to go to the official website and select the course.
  2. Click on “New registration”.
  3. The candidate must complete the registration form to receive his user ID and password in his registered email and phone. 
  4. The candidate must note the user-id and password for logins.
  5. The candidate must click on the “Proceed to Application” button and complete the four steps in the online application form.
  6. Next, the payment is to be done. The candidate will receive the payment reference number within 24 hours.

  1. The candidate must log-in with the provided credentials to print Joint Declaration form and appendices. These must be produced at the time of certificate verification only.
  2. Candidates who apply for seats under special reservation must submit the signed Joint Declaration form with necessary Documents and Annexure in person only to the Dean (Agriculture) and Chairman (Admission), Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore.
  3. Originals must be produced with all the self-attested photocopies for verification. Only verified candidates will be considered.
  4. Scanned copies of all mark-sheets and community certificates must be uploaded. If any candidate fails to do so, his application shall be rejected without any intimation.

At the time of admission, the following documents along with attested photocopies must be submitted:

  1. Transfer certificate
  2. Provisional / Degree certificate of Bachelor’s program
  3. Conduct certificates: one from the Head of the Institution and two from the Professors of the Institution where the candidate last studied
  4. Copy of the online fee payment receipt
  5. Mark list/transcript card of Bachelor’s degree
  6. Community certificate

Ques. Does the college provide seats through management quota?

Ans. Yes, the college provides seats through management quota. However, the candidate must have applied through TNAU online admission procedure. All seats filled under management quota are subject to TNAU approval. Also, candidates who pass Higher Secondary Course (HSC) under Vocational stream are not eligible for Management Quota.
