Established in 1988, Chaudhary Charan Singh National Institute of Agricultural Management (CCSNIAM), Jaipur, is an autonomous educational institution working under the aegis of the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Govt of India.

NIAM, Jaipur offers a two-year Post-Graduate Diploma in Agri-Business Management PGDM (ABM). Candidates applying for the PGDM (ABM) program must have a four-year Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 50% marks.

CSS NIAM Jaipur PGDM Eligibility

  • The basic eligibility criteria for admission to this program is an ICAR/UGC recognized bachelor’s degree (10+2+4 pattern) in any Agricultural or allied with minimum 50% marks.
  • A minimum of 45% marks is required for candidates belonging to the reserved category candidates.
  • The candidates must possess a valid score in CAT or CMAT.

CSS NIAM Jaipur PGDM Selection Criteria

The selection of candidates for admission to the PGDM (ABM) program is done on a multi-stage level. Candidates are selected on the basis of the following parameters-

  • CAT or CMAT rank/score
  • Essay Writing
  • GDPI
  • Work Experience

The CAT/CMAT Score weightage will be computed as per the following formula:

CAT Score (CS)  CS = Candidate’s CAT Score/Highest CAT Score x 51
CMAT Score (CMS) CMS= Candidate’s CMAT Score/Highest CMAT Score x 34

Candidates shall be called for group discussion, personal interview, and another testing parameters based on CAT/CMAT Score for different categories. The final merit list will be prepared based on the following selection parameters and respective weights as given below:

Note- Diversity Factor weightage of 6% is assigned to agriculture and allied disciplines, 2% for humanities & social sciences and 0% for pure sciences and engineering disciplines Personal interview and Group Discussion may include subjects to test a candidate’s aptitude for Agriculture and Management. Candidate’s record in extracurricular activities and any additional qualifications or accomplishments may also be considered during the interview process. 

The following weightage will be assigned to the Work Experience-

Note0.5 marks extra shall be awarded for each year’s job experience in agriculture & allied sectors and in rural development with an upper ceiling of 5 marks in work Experience.

Diversity Factor weightage will be assigned to various academic disciplines as per the list is given below-

How to Apply for CCS NIAM Jaipur?

Candidates seeking admission to the PGD (ABM) program offered by NIAM, can apply online or offline. For offline submission, the candidates must download the application form from the official website of the institute.

The detailed process of application is as follows:

  • Visit the official institute website and fill the prescribed application form available online.
  • All candidates are required to register online before filling the online application form.
  • Candidates are required to enter their CAT/CMAT registration number while registering. All requisite information must be filled correctly.
  • Upon completion, the candidate is required to take a printout of the duly filled application form.
  • A copy of the printout and photocopies of all relevant documents, viz. age proof, education qualification testimonials, category certificate, work experience certificates, etc. should be sent to the address mentioned below along with a D.D. of INR 1200/- (INR. 600/- for SC and ST Candidates) in favor of “Director General, NIAM”, payable at Jaipur.

Ans. Yes, the institute does offer hostel accommodation since PGDM (ABM) is a fully residential program. There are separate Boys and Girls hostels with well-furnished rooms with 120 plus single occupancy. The rooms are well furnished, with separate phone-lines, air-coolers/AC and attached washrooms. The hostel is provided with 5 newspapers and weekly, fortnightly and monthly publications.

Admission:

The admission process occurs on basis of the CAT score. Applicants from an agriculture background are preferred but other course candidates can apply as well. The selection process is followed by a GD and PI process and candidates are selected on that basis.
