What students say about College of Technology, GB Pant University of Agriculture & Technology

Likes

  • We learn a very good quality syllabus which helps us to understand the things in the course.
  • There are awesome opportunities for internships, and the college itself offers many internship offers to students.
  • Many companies from various branches visit our college every year, offering fantastic packages for newcomers like us.
  • The college asks for a minimum fee structure so that students can easily qualify.
  • Sports are at their best here, as the university holds the Stevenson Stadium which features a race course, badminton courts, and tennis facilities.
  • Each year, you have to change your hostel, and I believe that with each passing year, you get the best hostel.
  • My reason for preferring this college was that it was the best I could get according to my ranking. The fees are also a good factor to join this college, and it is a well-known college in Uttarakhand.

Dislike

  • The Training and Placement Cell in this University was probably the biggest shock and later a disappointment for me.
  • I think there must be scholarships available for the poor and underprivileged students who want to pursue studies from there.
  • Im not gonna lie, the hostel infrastructure is very bad due to ill maintenance of rooms. Additionally, the food is also not very good. You will get milk and paratha every day for the whole year, and lunch and dinner are no exceptions.
  • The negative thing about the college is also that the attendance should be above 85 percent.

Placement Experience:

From the first semester of the 4th year, the placement process starts. Many companies like Hero Motors, Ashok Leyland, Nestle, TCS, and L&T visit the campus for interviewing students. The average package is about 4-5L. Most of the students prepare for GATE, UPSC, and other govt. exams as they get a good time for preparations.

Remarks:

Admission to various courses of the College of Technology, Pantnagar is based on the AIR JEE rank. Attend UTU counseling for getting into the merit. After the result of each Round is released, if you get the preferred course according to your selection during the counseling you'll be called for document verification and your seat will get reserved. UTU conducts 2 rounds of counseling and in addition to it, there are 2 (sometimes 3) more spot rounds of the college. Cut-off varies each year, Gen Computer Engineering: 50k-70k, Gen Information Technology: 70K- 90K, Gen Mechanical Engineering: 90k- 1.3L, Cut off for the reserved classes are much higher and also there is a state quota for the students who have Uttarakhand domicile.
