Indian Agricultural Statistics Research Institute which was established in the year 1970 works under the ICAR (Indian Council of Agricultural Research) to encourage students towards research, teaching, and training in Agricultural Statistics, Computer Application, and Bioinformatics.
It is a pioneer institute that was initially a small statistical unit of the then Imperial Council of Agricultural Research. It is approved by ICAR/UGC and offers Ph.D. and M.Sc. courses. The admission process is based upon the ICAR JRF entrance exam.

IASRI Admission
For seeking admission into M.Sc. have to fulfill specialization wise basic eligibility criteria. The selection process for these courses will be based upon marks secured in the All India Combined Competitive Examination conducted by the ICAR.
The entrance exam weightage for the selection process is 80% whereas 10% weightage is given to the interview process and 10% weightage is given to the academic attainments.
The selection process for Ph.D. programs are based upon the ICAR JRF entrance exam marks secured by the student candidate
How to apply?
To apply for any course in the IASRI institute, the student needs to follow these given steps:
- The notification regarding the application form will either be released in the newspaper or on the official website of the institute
- The student needs to visit this official website and fill in the application form with the necessary details
- The student shall also provide with all the necessary documents including the order to proceed with the application
- After submitting details and documents, the student must also make the payment for the application form through online mode only
- The candidate may apply for one discipline only
- The student may choose the examination center as per his/her own will
- After the procedure of filling the application, the site will provide the student with their admit card.
- Now the candidate needs to reach the examination center and appear for their offline exam
The admission process for foreign students will be considered only if they are sponsored by the government of India/DARE/ICAR.
For this, the foreign student candidate needs to send the application through their respective Embassies at New Delhi or through the respective Indian Mission abroad to the Government of India/ Secretary, DARE, New Delhi.

Government scholarships are provided to the economically weaker students by the institute. ICAR has raised the scholarship amount for students seeking admission into M.Sc. and Ph.D. courses-
- For the M.Sc course, the fellowship amount has been raised from INR 25,000 per month for 1st and 2nd year and INR 28,000 per month for 3rd year to INR 31,000 per month for 1st and 2nd year & INR35,000 per month for 3rd year.
- For Ph.D. course, the fellowship amount has been raised from INR 38,000 per month + HRA (for Master Degree holders) & INR 40,000per month + HRA (for Ph.D) to INR 49,000 per month + HRA (for Master’s Degree holders) & INR 54,000 per month + HRA (for Ph.D).
