The Indian Institute of Soil Science, also abbreviated as IISS, is one of the topmost institutes in India. It is an autonomous institute for higher learning which was established in the year 1988. It is situated in the heart of Madhya Pradesh i.e. Bhopal. It has been established under the approval of the Indian Council of Agriculture (ICAR) by the Ministry of Agriculture. It is also been authorized by the Government of India for advanced research in the field of soil sciences.

Field Assistant Duration: 3 Years
Eligibility: Candidate must be Graduates in agriculture/ horticulture/ botany or any other related discipline.
Selection will be based on score in the NET/GATE exam (for SRF and RA), performance in interview and/or written test.
Junior Research Fellow Duration: 3 Years
Eligibility: The applicant must have passed M. Sc in Microbiology/ Agricultural Microbiology/ Soil Science’sAgricultural Physics with 4 or 5 years of Bachelor’s degree and 60% marks (55% for SC/ST/PH candidates). 
Senior Research Fellow Duration: 3 Years
Eligibility: The candidate must have passed M. Sc Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry/ M. Sc Soil Physics/ Agricultural Physics/Soil Science/Geology/ Agronomy/Basic Sciences with 4 or 5 years of Bachelor’s degree.
Research Associate Duration: 3 Years
Eligibility: The candidate must have passed M.SC Soil Science/ Agricultural Physics/ Environmental Science/Agriculture Meteorology along with 4 or 5 years of Bachelor’s degree with minimum first division or 60% marks; moreover, the candidate must have at least 2 years of research experience.
