National Research Centre for Agroforestry [NRCAF] was established at Jhansi in the year by 1988. The institute was set up as unit of ICAR. The centre is in process of developing phase and modernizing its infrastructure. The institute aims to undertake basic and applied research for developing and delivering technologies based on sustainable agroforestry prctices on farms, marginal and wastelands for different agroclimatic zones in INDIA. NRCAF co-ordinates network research with the ICAR Institutes other related research institutes for identifying technologies which can be transferred from one region to another. The institute provides training to students in research methodologies and use and application of technologies developed at various levels. It offers various graduate and post graduate degree level courses for imparting education in the field of agroforestry.
