The BDS program offered by SDM College of Dental Sciences and Hospital is of 4 years duration plus one year of compulsory Rotatory internship. During this period, the student is required to be engaged in full-time study at the institution.

For admissions, candidates have to appear in NEET UG entrance exam conducted by CBSE.

Counselling process for the admission to the BDS seats in the Karnataka state is carried out by the KEA (Karnataka Examination Authority). Candidates seeking admission to the Government seats (25) of the college and seats under general merit (19) have to sit for KEA counselling.

SDM College of Dental Sciences and Hospital offers MDS course which is of three years duration and students are required to be enrolled as full-time candidates.

The course is offered in nine specializations, for admission to the MDS course, one must have a BDS degree from a university recognized by the Dental Council of India, New Delhi, or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences.

Of the total 48 seats, 9 and 8 are Government and General merit seats which are filled on the basis of NEET PG entrance exam.

Admission to the MDS course will be on the basis of counselling process conducted by KEA.

SDM College of Dental Sciences and Hospital Application Process 2023

Those seeking admission to BDS and MDS course must have a valid NEET UG and NEET PG score card respectively. Counselling process for both BDS and MDS courses is conducted by KEA (Karnataka Examination Authority). Seats for both the courses are allotted to eligible candidates who complete the counselling process successfully.

Applicants for BDS or MDS course have to follow below steps to participate in the counselling process of KEA.

  • Go to KEA web Portal www.kea.kar.nic.in and register for admission.
  • Pay registration fee of INR 750 for BDS course (INR 1000 for PG course) as registration fee.
  • After the successful registration, the candidates have to undergo document verification process at the Verification Counter.
  • KEA will retain one set of the attested photocopies of all the documents of those candidates who have completed the verification process successfully.
  • An acknowledgement cum verification slip and a high-security secret key will be issued to the candidates.
  • The candidate has to use this secret key to register and create a password to login to online option entry portal.
  • Eligible candidates after verification after verification will be considered for entry of options and for allotment of seats.

The following original documents and one set of photocopies have to arranged and produced at the verification counter for verification of documents.

  • The final print out of the Online Application Form.
  • Original Copy of the Challan for having paid the fees.
  • Admission Ticket for NEET.
  • Mark sheet of HSC and SSC (BDS degree as well as MDS course).
  • Study Certificate counter signed by the concerned BEO / DDPI.
  • Two recent passport size photographs.

Following documents have to be produced by only those candidates who are seeking relaxation/ reservation under any category.

  • Income Certificate.
  • Kannada Medium Study Certificate counter signed by the concerned BEO, for the candidates claiming Kannada Medium reservation benefits.
  • Rural Study Certificate counter signed by the concerned BEO.
  • Caste Certificate, for the candidates claiming Reservation benefits.
  • A valid certificate for candidates claiming Hyderabad-Karnataka Region.
  • Domicile Certificate.
  • Valid affidavit of the candidate who claims eligibility under Horanadu and Gadinadu Kannadiga clauses.
  • Identity card.
  • Minority Certificate.
  • Study certificate for having studied in Karnataka for 10 years including either 10th or 12th in Karnataka to claim Minority seats.
