Location Facts

Located in the heart of Munich, and has campuses throughout the city. The main campus has its own subway station with several other building of the campus located in the city suburbs.


The university has three campuses in Bavaria: Garching, Munich (main campus), and Weihenstephan. The main campus has an Olympic park. The main campus is located in downtown Munich which is also housed by various technological industries like BMW, Allianz, Siemens, etc. 


Library

LMU has one of the finest library systems in Germany. It has 13 subject libraries. The collection comprises of 172,782 (textbooks);4993 (subscriptions);  9356 (ejournals); 233,566 (ebooks); 652 (subject-related databases). 


The library houses 45,000 ejournals, 160,000 ebooks, 2400 e-databases, etc. 2 million is the overall collection of books including print and digital collection. 


Campus Life

You can involve in 90 types of sports, become a cook on campus (an initiative where student connect and discuss with help of food), and for film enthusiasts, the university offers U-cinema (underground movies are presented by student union), English movie night with student council, and more. The university also has various clubs and societies catering to interests like arts, music, historical studies, and more. Apart from Oktoberfest, various other student fests are organized by the university. On-campus is available extensive food choices through 8 canteens and 7 cafes.


The two major spring festivals receive over 150 student volunteers.  The university has 14 academic orchestra’s, and 90 different sports activities to offer. There are various clubs and societies such as film clubs, etc to indulge in.
