The Full form of BASLP is BSc in Audiology & Speech-Language Pathology. BASLP is a 4-year course that teaches the process to diagnose and cure speech and hearing related issues. The eligibility criteria for BASLP admission 2023, varies slightly from universities to another. However the overall criteria or the requirement remains the same. 

  • The student should have completed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Mathematics as the compulsory subject from a recognized board
  • Students from both mathematics as well as biology groups are eligible.
  • They must have scored at least 50% in the 12th standard.
  • 5% relaxation is offered to the reserved categories.

BASLP Admission 2023

The BASLP Admission 2023 to the top colleges are done on the basis of entrance examination. Some of the private colleges offer admission on the basis of merit list. The admission process generally begins from the month of May or June. However, the admission process has been postponed  due to the second of Covid 19 pandemic. However, the admission season will kick off soon after the CBSE, ICSE or other state boards declare their results.

  • The NEET UG entrance examination is conducted by the National Testing Agency.

IPU CET 

  • The IPU CET is an university level entrance examination conducted by the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University for admission to its UG and PG courses. 
  • The candidates must have physics, chemistry,biology or maths as their compulsory subjects. The candidates must also have english as one of the fundamental subjects in their 12th.
  • The cost of the application form is INR 1200.
  • The duration of  the entrance examination is for a [period of 3 hours. 
  • The syllabus of the entrance exam is based on the subjects from the class 12 examination that includes physics, chemistry and biology.

All India Entrance Exam of AYJNISHD(D)

  • This entrance examination is held by the Ali Yavar Jung National Institute of Speech and Hearing Disabilities.
  • Candidates are required to have a 50% score in their 12th or equivalent examination from recognized boards.
  • The duration of the entrance exam is for 2 Hours and the questions are mainly in MCQ format.
  • There are a total of 125 seats.

Campus Life:

NISH provides a good campus life for all students. The institute conducts arts fest and sports fest yearly by collaborating with all the departments. NISH is an integrated campus with both students with normal hearing and those with hearing impairment. The annual day of the institute, the NISH day is conducted in October of every year

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose the course as I wanted to be a rehabilitation professional. The national institute of speech and hearing provides a team of faculty who is excellent in the field. The institute has a faculty-student ratio of about 1:4. The faculty is well qualified for the conduct of the course

Campus Life:

The campus life at National Institute of Speech and Hearing is a bit different from other engineering colleges and arts and science colleges. Since the main focus of the institute is the welfare of persons with disabilities the faculty and students are more focused in working togther towards this goal. The students union conduct fests at the college on a regular basis. The college has an active sports team and a talented coach who is ever ready to guide the students. The annual fest of the institute, the NISH day is conducted annually in the month of October with the collaboration of all the departments. The NISH day is the most awaited event of every NISHians. The classrooms are well furnished with tables and chairs for the students with a projector with smartborad and a computer for each classroom.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Bachelor of Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology is a professional course which makes students capable of providing rehabilitation services to individuals with communication difficulties and hearing impairment. The faculty at the National Institute of Speech and Hearing is excellent. The institute has a faculty-student ratio of about 1:4. All of the faculties are well qualified in the field with either master's in audiology and speech-language pathology or a PhD in the core area. The exams are conducted by the University of Health Sciences on a semester basis and the difficulty level of the exams will be hard.
