Campus Life:

There is a wide range of fests and activities held in BSSS. Such as the abhisaran held recently. There is a huge library, containing 3 floors, which consists of a variety of books related to all kinds of fields and topics. Classrooms are well equipped with all kinds of necessities. There are many sports events and matches held in BSSS, where a selection process is also done on the campus itself. And of course, clubs are superb. One can polish their skills and further enhance them and simultaneously act as an asset to the college by being a part of any club of their choice.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My main reason of opting for Psychology was my interest in this field, and of course the scope ahead. The faculty for psychology here, Psychology department is commendable. Teachers are all skilled, experienced and dedicated towards their job. Almost all of them posses a PhD and the teaching method includes theoretical as well as practical applications. Concept are made clear to the students through notes and ppts.

Campus Life:

The campus life of Keshav Mahavidyalaya is amazing but it feels like school a little bit. When you have friends around you life gets more joyful on campus no doubt. The environment of this college is very peaceful there is no fighting between students all students behave very friendly and they all are very helpful. Especially psychology department students are very kind, helpful and interesting. And we have lots of societies in the College and I am part of the Illuminati the photography society of our college and it is the best. And we also have departmental societies in which we do interesting activities. Ans our college fest name is tryst which is coming soon for which we are very excited and the departmental fest also organised on a good level in which we got speaking session that was amazing. The library is also good but you can not find the latest version. and the best thing is the infrastructure is the best thing of Keshav Mahavidyalaya

Course Curriculum Overview:

The faculty members at Keshav Mahavidyalaya are well-qualified and experienced in their respective fields, and they provide students with quality education and guidance. The college also has well-equipped labs and facilities for students to conduct research and gain practical experience in the field of psychology. Overall, Keshav Mahavidyalaya is a reputed college for psychology at Delhi University, and students who are interested in pursuing a career in psychology can consider applying to the college.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:

The cost of ba hons psychology was around 10000 ten thousand something Overall, fee hikes should be implemented responsibly, with the needs of students and their families being the primary consideration. Institutions should ensure that any fee hikes are justified and reasonable and that they have policies in place to assist students who may be financially disadvantaged.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The faculty members are very knowledgeable and well-acquainted with the classroom setting. I chose psychology due to my interest in mental health and related issues that I'll get to address in the field, and the experience of the faculty members proves to be very beneficial for this reason. There are about 150 students in the psychology department and 5 faculty members, estimating the ratio to be around 1:30. The faculty is well qualified, and the professors have their PHDs from prestigious universities and are very experienced. The term exams occur every 6 months and are easy to pass with minimal hours spent studying.

Campus Life:

The annual fest, Tryst is conducted during the month of April every year. The library has vast availability of resources, and the books for each course can be very easily found there. Classrooms have benches, lights, and fans, and each classroom has a projector and a screen, with multiple switchboards. The college has multiple cultural and departmental societies, which organize events throughout the year. It also has an active student council body which is elected by the students themselves.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My interest in psychology developed during school time when i studied this subject in my 11th and 12th. So I felt that this was something that I could definitely take up for graduation. The teacher-student ratio is good. We have 1 teacher for every 9 students. The faculty is very well qualified. The head of the department and the teacher in charge are professionals in the field of counseling psychology and clinical psychology. The other faculty members too are highly qualified. The teaching methods however are something that is of major concern. Most of the teachers rely on PPTs rather than actually explaining things via exposure which makes learning things about psychology a little boring and mundane. The exams are at a shorter distance, in about 4 months each semester comes to an end which makes it difficult for the faculty to finish the syllabus on time. the exams are very easy and the questions are very to the point and easy to pass.

Campus Life:

Our college has an annual cultural fest- Tryst that is conducted in April every year. We have a tech fest that is conducted by the departmental society of the CS department- Blitz. The library is full of good books and journals and in ample quantity. Classrooms have projectors and screens. We have many societies like Western dance, Indian dance, music, photography, debate, poetry, etc.

Campus Life:

There are many sports, fests and other activities on campus. In psychology, we have a club named as psyche in which we print magazines on psychology and organise curricular activities for behavioural science students. The classrooms are very comfortable as well as the library contains almost all the books.

Internships Opportunities:

College only provides time for internships we have Thursday off for our internship every week. We ourselves have to select the clinics or the hospitals from where we can do internships. The only option from University for an internship is Sgt Hospital where there are no patients and no stipend.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because I wanted to learn more about psychology. Students definitely have a lot of power there and they manage a great amount of faculty and campus services. I would rate them a 7, teaching methods were okay for some teachers but mostly the problem was to compensate for the students who did not know English. I know it's harder for them and it is a setback in a class at a government college. Exams were pretty long, I won't say difficult to pass but definitely difficult to score.

Campus Life:

There were lots of fests mainly in the month of September - October. The library is good, it has everything you need to study and a very calm environment. The classrooms are fine, you can't expect too much at such low fees so don't count on anything a private college has. I'm not a sports girl but I saw people playing and competing so it was good overall. Facebook has a group named Maharani college, and for the rest, after admission, there is a separate WhatsApp group for each class.

I chose this course because I love psychology like how people think, and act. The faculty is very supportive they are like friends. They teach via videos, ppts, notes, and class discussion. Exams are difficult like questions are tricky but it's enjoyable.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:

It's lit bit expensive for middle class and lower class but by getting good scores you can apply for scholarship from Sharda University. Scholarship system is very good they are helping and they try to understand your situation.

The campus life is full of hustle and bustle, there are many clubs and societies for different areas including music, dance, sports, NCC, NSS, social service art theatre, etc. and many fests and events are conducted within a year. The library is full of a variety of books and Journals and the college serves the children with many amenities.

Placement Experience:

From the fourth semester, students become eligible for campus placements, many companies like max and other counseling centers visit the campus or make an offer of internship and the average package is around 500000 and around 60% of students get placements. After getting the degree I wish to complete my post-graduation in Psychology.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose psychology as my major, and yes the curriculum and course layout is effective and knowledgeable, the qualification of the faculty is very efficient though there were a lot of faculty changes happening, which did delay the course, there is also a foreign language being taught, and that's the hard part, to pass those exams. all the midterms and finals were on the scheduled timings only.

Placement Experience:

the placements are good for the engineering department and other departments get good exposure to the placement drives. students start getting emails regarding the placements from 4 semesters onwards. I have heard that the highest package has been 3 crores. yes, there is a large percentage of students who get placements. I have planned for pursuing masters in clinical psychology.

Ques. How is Aryabhatta College of DU for psychology?

● Top Answer By Aakash Das, on 28 Oct 21

Ans. One of my friends studied Psychology at Aryabhatta College. According to her, it is really great as it offers immense exposure and opportunities. The college, though being a new establishment, is growing rapidly academically. The college is very strict and has certain rules and regulations to maintain its discipline. 75-80% attendance is compulsory. The faculty is highly experienced and cooperative. The department organizes guest lectures on a regular basis from eminent people in the field of psychology.  Srijan, the psychology association of Aryabhatta college is a very active society. Ques. Which is better for BA in psychology- Jai Hind or St. Xavier College Mumbai?

● Top Answer By Supriyo Sen on 19 Jan 21

Ans. Among the two institutes mentioned, St.Xavier College, Mumbai is better for a BA in psychology.  The table below will give you a brief overview of the two colleges. Parameters Jai Hind St.Xavier College Fee structure INR 16,200 (for 3 years) Rs 17,625 (for 3 years) Placement rate (2020) - >90% Average salary package (2020) 3 LPA 6.5 LPA Comparison:  Both the institutes provide good learning opportunities, but the difference is St. Xavier is autonomous and hence better. As St. Xaviers is autonomous, it can update the syllabus anytime, if needed. While Jai Hind is affiliated with MU and follows the same syllabus as MU. Which may not be updated.  Xavier’s also conducts its own examinations. So any problem caused in the result published by MU will not affect the students of Xaviers.  Like any other autonomous institute, Xaviers also publishes its results first. So, students get the first preference for a job.  While containing a degree from MU through Jai Hind is quite convenient since university and college will both have a set of mark sheets. From the academic point of view, St. Xaviers College is better than Jai Hind College Mumbai.Read more

Ans. It entirely depends on your interest in the course. If you have a certain career goal in mind and want to achieve it by going through BA Psychology, you should opt for it. One of my friends studied at Nizam College. According to him, psychology was very popular here. They had students from all over the world. They had a diverse student crowd. According to academics, it is one of the best.  Also, you should keep in mind that attending regular classes and paying attention to whatever is being taught there is crucial. This is because the more you familiarize yourself with the subject, understanding it becomes easier. The fee structure depends on the combination of subjects you get with psychology, courses with lab practicals cost more than regular ones. Since it is a government institution, fees will be comparatively less. BA in Psychology may cost you INR 13,800 for 3 years.Read more
