Ques. Is it good when doing a BA in Psychology from Nizam College? What is the fee structure?

● Top Answer By Janvi Bhambri on 08 Nov 21

Ans. It entirely depends on your interest in the course. If you have a certain career goal in mind and want to achieve it by going through BA Psychology, you should opt for it. One of my friends studied at Nizam College. According to him, psychology was very popular here. They had students from all over the world. They had a diverse student crowd. According to academics, it is one of the best.  Also, you should keep in mind that attending regular classes and paying attention to whatever is being taught there is crucial. This is because the more you familiarize yourself with the subject, understanding it becomes easier. The fee structure depends on the combination of subjects you get with psychology, courses with lab practicals cost more than regular ones. Since it is a government institution, fees will be comparatively less. BA in Psychology may cost you INR 13,800 for 3 years.Read more

● Top Answer By Neha Uniyal on 28 Oct 21

Ans. One of my friends studied Psychology at Aryabhatta College. According to her, it is really great as it offers immense exposure and opportunities. The college, though being a new establishment, is growing rapidly academically. The college is very strict and has certain rules and regulations to maintain its discipline. 75-80% attendance is compulsory. The faculty is highly experienced and cooperative. The department organizes guest lectures on a regular basis from eminent people in the field of psychology.  Srijan, the psychology association of Aryabhatta college is a very active society. Being in Delhi University South Campus there is the ease of transportation.  The student crowd is also very good. Therefore, you can consider this college as a good option not just for psychology but for other courses as well. Ques. Which college would be better for pursuing BA im psychology St. Xaviers at Mumbai or Fergusson college in Pune?

● Top Answer By Aaditya Hari Nair on 27 Sept 21

Ans. St. Xaviers and Fergusson College both are one of the best institutes for pursuing law in Pune. According to the reviews online, here are some things I got to know about them. During the time of admission in terms of cut off St. Xaviers has a far higher cut off than Fergusson College.  St. Xaviers also has an aptitude test conducted and an interview session for choosing the best candidates for BA in psychology.  The demand for BA in psychology as a major subject is very high within Maharashtra.  St. Xaviers has a very good faculty and departments.  The only problem is it has a lot of demand from the people.  Fergusson College is a suitable place in terms of everything. Fergusson College is the same as St. Xaviers but with less demand so admission can be done easier.  The atmosphere for studying here is great.  The faculty members are caring and supportive and they bring out the best in you and also they help you reach out to your inner potential.  Categories St. Xavier’s Mumbai Fergusson College Pune Course Fee INR 23,361 INR 22,340 Course Duration 3 years 3 years Average CTC 6 LPA 6-7 LPA In 2020 Fergusson College had a higher ranking than St. Xaviers and continues to dominate it. Ques. Which is better for BA in psychology- Jai Hind or St. Xavier College Mumbai?

● Top Answer By Aniket Atul Mahulikar on 19 Jan 21

Ans. Among the two institutes mentioned, St.Xavier College, Mumbai is better for a BA in psychology.  The table below will give you a brief overview of the two colleges. Parameters Jai Hind St.Xavier College Fee structure INR 16,200 (for 3 years) Rs 17,625 (for 3 years) Placement rate (2020) - >90% Average salary package (2020) 3 LPA 6.5 LPA Comparison:  Both the institutes provide good learning opportunities, but the difference is St. Xavier is autonomous and hence better. As St. Xaviers is autonomous, it can update the syllabus anytime, if needed. While Jai Hind is affiliated with MU and follows the same syllabus as MU. Which may not be updated.  Xavier’s also conducts its own examinations. So any problem caused in the result published by MU will not affect the students of Xaviers.  Like any other autonomous institute, Xaviers also publishes its results first. So, students get the first preference for a job.  While containing a degree from MU through Jai Hind is quite convenient since university and college will both have a set of mark sheets. From the academic point of view, St. Xaviers College is better than Jai Hind College Mumbai.Read more

Course Curriculum Overview :

As far as psychology hons is concerned it is v.exhausting.the classes start from 8.30 am to 4 pm.In each semester there are at least 2 researches to be conducted by students and theory exams which could fetch you 100 percent..The professers at most provide us with pdf of the core and generic elective books but donot provide us with ppt most of the times. As far as research is concerned every year its the same according to the core subject taken and plagarism isn't promoted.Exam marks distribution and course structure are as follows- Core paper is psychology honsGeneric elective is journalism Then, cbcs i.e. choice based credit system as per guidelines of delhi university i.e there for 3 years) subject and journalism (as a generic elective for which we only have to pursue for 2 years).Apart from choosing this course due to high income and employement rates this course also employs mandatory Aecc system which is a skill enhancement system. In sem 1 students are required to take Environmental science and sem 2 requires us to take English as advanced level course. Both of them last for 6 months and finish by 1st year.By the time we are in sem 3 we are provided with SEC which is a skill enhancement paper in your required core paper.Usually at Lsr organizational psychology is promoted. It also lasts for 6months.At the end of 2nd year we are finished with our generic elective/diploma course.3rd year follows same pattern but no diploma course and continuation of SEC courses. In every semester from 1st to 6th we are required to have practicals which involves extensive research skills. At the end of each semester viva and theory both are to be given to obtain perfect 100 percent.(practicals make 50 percent and theory 50 percent.)Books are mentioned by professors and there are no multiple choice question tests, all tests are lengthy and subjective in nature.

Campus Life :

In terms of comparision of campus life since Lsr lies at south campus in south delhi even the basic student facilities like salons to pgs can be expensive as compared to delhi university's North campus.Gender ratio= 100 percent girlsStudent/dorm parties aern't promoted inside the college but parties are promoted outside.cultural societies or Student diversity is emmense and students from all parts of India as well as from abroad flock LSR.In terms of tolerance with regards to gender, ethnicity, race, religion, sexual orientation, politics and economic status. There are regular speeches organized by different department every week to sensitize equality based on gender,be open to explore and promote a safe society for homosexuals but as the same time not endangering any other gender of society, criticicsms regarding domestic violence is promoted and women are trained to be independent. There is no idealization of a particular religion over other and girls of similar thoughts prevail to promote equal society for all men, women and all others i.e asexuals, bisexuals etc. There is no idealization of a particular political ideology over other and infact debates are promoted to help uplift societies in better ways. All in all, it provides a process from the first day till the last day of college which makes differentiate between right and wrong and ragging straightaway leads to expulsion of the bully.

Admission :

I got admission into LSR, New Delhi through meeting the cut off of psychology hons as my main (core -cbcs i.e. choice based credit system as per guidelines of delhi university i.e there for 3 years) subject and journalism (as a generic elective for which we only have to pursue for 2 years).Apart from choosing this course due to high income and employement rates this course also employs mandatory Aecc system which is a skill enhancement system. At the end of each semester viva and theory both are to be given to obtain perfect 100 percent.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course curriculum is designed perfectly. The teachers are thorough with the course and teach amazingly. They are very student friendly and considers the problems students must be facing other than studies. They are willing to clear doubts after classes also , you can contact them , they are very approachable. Their are tutorial classes which are devoted to teacher student bonding and doubts clearing. For a class of 50 there are different teachers for different subjects. Apart from lecture classes there are lab classes in which we do our practicals and make practical files. The teaching methods are with pace to students. Every 6 months exams are held and a viva with the external is there. Internals keeps on going throughout the sem. Being the best in education there is emphasis on quality education and timely submissions.

Campus Life :

Our department hosts a term fest of psychology and college has a yearly fest, not as huge as other colleges in DU because of limited entry due to security issues. The college is a bit far away from the main campus but is a part of the north campus. It takes 10 mins to reach the main campus from the college. To chill and hang out the nearest place is Kamla Nagar, Hudson lane, etc. The college infrastructure is very good. We have an AC library with 3 floors, it's updated and has every book and journal. In sports, we have cricket, basketball, tennis, soccer, handball, swimming, gym, badminton, wall climbing, etc. There are many societies and support groups by the students, for the students.

Placement Experience :

Final year students are eligible for placements. Although most seniors opt for Masters and don't go for a job. After getting the degree I'll do a Masters in psychology.

Admission :

It is one of the best colleges for psychology because of the faculty. The infrastructure is great and the grounds are amazing. Pretty far away from politics is an added bonus of being an off campus college. Places like Netaji Subhash Place are nearby, making it great for hangouts.

Campus Life :

Keshav mahavidyalya is a co-Ed college. There is great diversity in the college numbers. College is very inclusive in their day to day tasks. Politics is very low, added benefit to being an off campus college. There is diversity in college’s students economic status.

Faculty :

The faculty of the college is very knowledgeable and helpful. Assignments and projects are specially designed to enhance the studying experience. The faculty is motivated and tries their best to inspire the students to learn more and provide their best effort.

Campus Life :

Sports facility are available in this college - badminton, tennis, chess, cricket, football, basteket ball, running, swimming, dance class, song class etc. The labs were good and well equipped with chemicals and apparatus. No discrimination is made on any grounds.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The fees structure is more on the first year as it is the admission fee and it keeps on decreasing the next two years as it doesn't include the admission fee. Along with these, a little bit fees is required for infrastructure which is feasible.

Placement Experience :

Well, coming to this - internships are available for students for those who are in the science field and students scoring atleast 90% get easily placed and stipend is around 8k to 10k. But there isn't any placements for arts students as such.

The course curriculum is very well structured. Exams conducted every six months. My course is a three-year full-time course. Exams held six times in a total of three years. In Psychology paper, both practical and theory papers are included.

Remarks :

The overall review is that its good but its isolated from the city and lies in the rural village of Haryana which essentially has nothing to offer much around. Students go to theka to buy cheap alcohol. The outside environment is conservative but inside they pretend to be liberals

Placement Experience :

There are a lot of internships opportunities. For example, banks, travel companies like make my trip provide internships with really good amount of stipends. Particularly i think the average stipend is around 15000 a month and the internships is generally around 3 months long

Admission :

Holistic application process with interview and aptitude' testing. Merit credibility also tested. If any standardized test scores, it is also considered. Must also provide an application essay and on the spot essay with aptitude test.
