Ques. Is it better to study B.Com from an average DU college like Shyam Lal, or Sri Aurobindo (Evening), or study for a BBA in IB from Amity University?

● Top Answer By Kiran Chugh on 03 Nov 21

Ans. It’s better to prefer DU regular colleges given the choice. Course-wise, choosing B.Com over BBA is better, unless you are particularly interested in doing BBA. Here are some of the reasons why you should choose DU for your degree. Other colleges charge reasonably higher tuition fees compared to DU, especially for courses like BBA. If you are taking admission to a regular DU college try to engage in different activities. Join societies, clubs, etc. It will help you in the long run. In DU colleges, you will get enough time to do internships for work experiences. This will definitely look better on your CV. If you are a graduate from DU, then you will get certain advantages over Non-DU candidates, in job interviews. If you want to study CA, CS, etc. along with your degree, then it is better to do a B.Com. Since the B.Com syllabus will have more subjects related to CA, CS, CWA, etc. You can also easily prepare for other competitive exams, without your college timing being an issue.  Considering all these factors, doing B.Com from a regular DU college will be better than doing BBA from Amity University. Read more

Ques. Which among the following would make the best choice for B.Com Honours - Kalindi College, Aryabhatta College, or Shyamlal College?

● Top Answer By Janvi Bhambri on 29 Oct 21

Ans. Compared to Aryabhatta College and Shyamlal College, Kalindi College is better, in terms of academics. Here are some of the things that you should know about Kalindi College. The faculties are well-experienced and supportive. Kalindi College recently got NAAC A grade accreditation. As it is a girl’s college, classes are conducted regularly. Other than academics the facilities offered at Kalindi are average at best. The food available at the canteen is not that great. There is no common room.  Recently the university had an infrastructural maneuver. The infrastructure has improved. There is a new hostel, a new amphitheater, new academic block, etc. Kalindi boasts of various societies like Dramatic Society - RAQS, Fashionista, Debating Society, etc. It has an active placement cell. They regularly organize seminars and placement drives. Some of the popular recruiting companies that visit the campus dive are Kodak Mahindra, HCL, Accenture, etc. Around 70% of students get placed and the average CTC offered at the institute is 3-4 LPA. Considering the above factors it’s safe to say that Kalindi is the best option.Read more

Ques. Which is better for a B.Com, Shaheed Bhagat Singh College or JMC?

● Top Answer By Sagar Pandey on 29 Oct 21

Ans. Both colleges belong to the same league. However, for a B.Com degree, Shaheed Bhagat Singh College is better. It has a better faculty base for Commerce. It also offers better gender diversity. Although JMC has good faculty for B.Com, it’s not better than SBSC. JMC has a vast campus but there are not many hangout places or food joints, etc. Overall, SBSC is definitely a better option for doing B.Com. Read more

Ques. How do I score good marks in a B.Com. at the Rajasthan University?

● Top Answer By Mohit Sarohi on 29 Oct 21

Ans. One of my friends studied at Rajasthan University. Let me share some of the things he used to do to prepare for scoring good marks. Though the question pattern has changed, it is necessary to go through the previous year’s question papers. It is quite impossible to read every book thoroughly, that is why learning from the previous year’s question papers will be beneficial. For practicals start practicing from the unit of the book which you find comparatively easier and interesting. Try and pay attention to every lecture being conducted in the classes. For the 20 marks questions, try writing 7-8 pages, as it will fetch you better marks. Make sure you use points instead of paragraphs. Finally, try to remain calm in stressful situations. Confidently answer your questions. While writing, do not repeat the same things over and over, maintain a tidy answer sheet and you will be good to go.Read more

Admission :

I am currently doing B.Com (Hons.) from Munger University, Bihar. Candidates seeking admission in this college need to have more than 50% score in their 10+2. Thus, the selection procedure is entirely based on academic qualification. I scored 83% marks in my class 12th and since I wanted to study in my hometown, I got an admission here. I was asked to submit my 10+2 report card along with other documents. Thus, the admission procedure went quite smooth.

Alumni/Alumna :

Our batch will be the first batch to graduate from this college and make a mark in real life. All the students in this college are very helpful and are willing to help the juniors in any kind of help they want. Campus Life :

The life at the campus is just amazing, it's difficult to put into words what actually the fun here taught us. Our annual fest is the most awaited event for all students which is conducted in the month of feb mostly, arranged by our society SARMAYA. All the books are generally available in the library though they are not of recent edition but it still serves the purpose, it is really easy to find the books, all one need to do is just searcg on the available computer and it will show u the almirah no in which ur books is available. Classrooms are not that furnished but are kept really clean, some classrooms have A/C , library are fully A/C . All types of sports team and eca are conducted in the college, various inter or intra college Competetion are there and accordingly practice goes. Sarmaya is the commerce society , along with it different other societies like arts society, dance , singing, sports, ncc, fashion society, all kinds of societies are there encouraging different ECA

Course Curriculum Overview :

I chose bcom hons because of my interest in this field, the faculty here is so knowledgeable that a students gets to learn so many things from them, plus all the teachers are way too cooperative always. We had 164 students in our batch, which is highest of all other years. Girls are definitely less than the boys, though not much difference. All the projects and studies are conducted in a comfortable and cooperative way. The faculty is highly qualified, some of them are PhD in their specific subjects while everyone else is having multiple degrees, all of them holding masters in commerce subjects. Some of the teachers are even having their own YouTube channels as well to help students. They use an understandable teaching method with both English and hindi languages, whichever is more comfortable for students. The term exams are generally conducted in the month of may and November and are at medium level, which can be passed if basics are clear to the students.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

All the courses in zakir hussain have very very nominal fees and one can easily pay it. My fees was Rs. 7000 for 1 year while bcom prog have around 5000 Rs. per annum. The books can be fetched from library and it is also available at a normal cost in a nearby market around the college. So,it can said that studying here is very cost effective. Well because of this pandemic situation, I didn't get a chance to get a job from the campus as this year, no colleges got any campus placements but generally one gets placed in different good companies from my college, with a stipend of around 10000-30000 per month which is a good amount after completing just graduation. Also different internships can be done along with the college only, even teachers do suggest some good internships and jobs to students. I do not have much knowledge about scholarship but if a student have some financial problem, then even the teachers help them if discussed.

Campus Life :

The campus provides free wifi to use though the speed is slow due to high traffic. The college also has a sports room where we can find common equipments. The library also has a good number of books. With 4 different computer labs free for students to use, gym, bank, auditorium, and a good canteen student shouldn't need anything new.

Course Curriculum Overview :

A well rounded course needed in today's world. The course was a good one though it lacked some bases. We had to study subjects not relevant to our focus of study. The faculty and staff is good and helpful in each and every step of the way.

College Events :

The campus a good crowd with a punjabi majority. The annual fest of the college is lit. With as much as 30 different societies to choose from one shouldn't worry about extracurricular as ome day or the other diffrent fests can be observed.
