The admission criteria are different in different colleges. Colleges like Delhi University offer admission in its colleges based on the Cut Off list generated by its affiliated colleges, and students whose Class 12 scores fall in the percentage cut off are eligible to apply for the course.

IP University, Banaras Hindu University, Aligarh Muslim University, etc usually accept students on the basis of performance in the university level BCom Hons entrance examinations.

The basic eligibility criteria for BCom Honours admission are as follows:

This exam is conducted every year by GGSIPU (IP University) for admissions into one of the 118 affiliated colleges in courses of different levels in streams such as science, commerce, arts, languages, engineering, management etc.

For BCom Honours, around 100 questions from Logical Reasoning, Data Interpretation, General Awareness & General English will be there, and students are required to finish the exam within 2.5 hours.

  • BHU UET:

This exam is an offline based exam, conducted by Banaras Hindu University (BHU) for admissions into its many UG courses such as B.Sc, BCom (Hons.), BVSc., BFA, LLB, etc.

This is a university level exam conducted by University of Lucknow every year for admission into many courses, including BCom Honours. It consists of 100 MCQ based questions that students are required to complete in 120 minutes (3 hours).

The syllabus for BCom Hons course consist of questions from Accounting, Business Management, Mathematics, etc. of Class 10+2 level.

  • Aligarh Muslim Univerisry (AMU) BCom (Hons) Entrance Exam:

This is a university level examination conducted by AMU Controller Exam at different exam centres all over India. The application and admission process has been started in AMU for BCom Honours course.

The syllabus usually consists of important topics at Class 10+2 level having questions from Accountancy, Business Management, Economics, etc.

How to get admission in BCom (Hons) at IP University?

Following are the admission requirements for the BCom Honours course in one of the colleges affiliated to IP University:

  • A minimum of 50% in aggregate in Class 12 from a recognized board
  • Pass in five subjects, i.e. One Language and Four Elective Subjects of Commerce stream.

Other equivalent recognized examinations can be:

  1. Pre-University Examination (Two years after ten years of schooling) of an Indian school college. OR Intermediate Examination of an Indian University / Board or an Examination recognized as equivalent (Pass in Five written subjects) 
  2. Indian School Certificate Examination (12 years) conducted by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi (Pass in Five written subjects)
