BE Aeronautical Engineering is a 4-year Under Graduate (UG) course with a specialization in the field of aviation and aerodynamics. B.E. Aeronautical Engineering: Eligibility

Candidate must have passed the 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized state or central board with at least 70% (relaxable for reserved category candidates) of the marks with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as the major subjects of study.

  • He/She shall not be having any Supplementary or Compartment in any of the subject/Subjects at 10+2 or equivalent level that is yet to be cleared at the time of taking admissions.
  • Apart from the above-mentioned eligibility criteria’s various colleges and institutes may have their own additional criteria’s which the students would have to satisfy in order to take admission.
  • In case of reserved category students, they would have to present their reservation certificates issued by the competent authorities in order to avail the benefits applicable to them.
  • Most of the Institute give admissions through Common Entrance Test (CET) (like JEE Main, UPSEE). To get admissions in these institutes candidates would have to qualify the respective entrance exam by securing minimum qualifying marks.

Admissions to the course are done through common entrance test based admission process (as seen across various Universities and colleges in the country) as well as merit-based selection process (in select few institutes/colleges). 

  • Students who have passed their 10+2 or equivalent level examinations with a minimum of 70% marks (relaxable for reserved category students) can make application in colleges offering the course.
  • Majority of the Universities/Colleges conduct a common entrance test for admission into B.E courses (like BITS) or take admissions through commonly held entrance exam like JEE Main, UPSEE. Hence students would have to make an application for such exams.

Seeing your interest in both branches, IIEST has a wide scope of diverse cultures and you will find many students from all over the nation.  IIEST Shibpur offers great exposure in terms of academics as well as extra-curricular activities along with the interactive clubs and fun happening fests. It comes under the Government of India and is one of the NIT.  However, Aerospace Engineering is not a trending branch anymore and it was in the limelight a decade ago. To open up more opportunities, you will be required to pursue a Master’s or prepare for the competitive exams to get a decent job.  ECE at Heritage Institute is more prominent but being a private college, it is not up to the mark as compared to Aerospace Engineering. Also, keep in mind that the IIT Madras Aerospace and Aeronautical departments of other institutes are different. Aerospace Engineering is designing, whereas Aeronautical Engineering is the maintenance of aircraft. Your life will be good in the aerospace department at the institute as it would be in any other department. Most of the IIT Aerospace students pursue masters after completing their degree. Ans. Yes, not only this year but for the last 5-6 years, MIT Aeronautical Engineering has been facing a lot of trouble in general. The primary reason is that it is one of the university departments of Anna University. In India, there are fewer core companies, and they mostly visit the IITs and NITs. Most of the students are attending IITs and NITs, which also decreases the number of students getting admission in MIT. Exams are used by public sector companies such as DRDO and ISRO to hire employees, and students had to apply after completing their undergraduate degrees. The curriculum isn't very good, in comparison to other streams. Some businesses require specialization, so they opt for P.G. There was no proper guidance from the staff. This is a major issue in the department. Categories Aeronautical Engineering at Madras Institute of Technology Course Fee 2 lakh Highest CTC 23 LPA Average CTC 10 LPA Recruiting Companies Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, Defense Research and Development Organisation, ISRO, NASA etc. Anna University's core placements are declining at a faster rate, and this is not limited to the Aeronautical department. I love Aeronautical engineering. So, I chose it. Faculties teaching and experience is good. They are well-performing teachers. Teachers are selected through interviews and exams. Exams based on practical knowledge. It seems very interesting and easy to learn.

Placement Experience :

4th-year students eligible for campus interviews. Placement is also offered by them. In aeronautical many students wants to get a job after the pg. After my UG, I want to study pg in abroad.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I had chosen this course because it was my dream to become an Aeronautical Engineer. The student ratio is 1:5 as it is engineering sector that too as the mechanical background so the girl's ratio is less. Most of the faculties are PhD and pursuing PHD professors and about their teaching method is awesome as faculties help us at any condition. They treat us like their friend as well as at some time they treat us like their own children. As final exams are based on the university but the internal exams are taken by the faculties. About difficulty in passing the subject if anyone study well they can easily pass otherwise every one knows it.

Campus Life :

The are many books in library-related to our course and other courses also. Their well-required amenities provided in classrooms but as I mentioned earlier everything as a good side and bad side. The college provides us to get to the various sports events at university level such as cricket, football, chess etc.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

As I mentioned earlier it is one of the cheapest colleges as compare to other colleges in India. My fees were 535000 for 4 years course and 60000/year for a hostel. There are many scholarships you can get if you are eligible for it.

Each department conducts symposium every year in which we invite other College students to participate in various events such as paper presentation, essay writing etc. We also conducts workshops in various occasions in which the school students and College students participate to learn lot of things. Our cultural day by named Hilaricas which is celebrated on February 14 every year in which participants from various colleges participates to show their talents.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The syllabus which is being taught to the students is out of dated but which helps to drive the Engineer inside every student. We have been provided average industrial exposure which have us idea at basic things in Aeronautical Engineering. When we have to talk about the facilities, my favourite faculty in my college was Assistant professor Mr. Arun Raja K K, he never failed as a professor as well as a good well wisher.

Campus Life :

The position of my college is near by Western ghats which provides great climate. When we talk about sports, we can join in sports team after proving ourselves to the sports committee. Our College didn't offered WiFi facility to students but we can access the internet using the Internet laboratory which is available to every student on every evening.

Course is very dept firstly introduced in our college only.we have a lot of senior staffs amd good hod, we have lots of creative and interesting cls.also we had awrodynamic lab facility,which is not even availble in any other colleges.other collegers also come here fr lab.

Admission :

I joined in this college thru a call from trust.they reduced my college fees.but for hostel we need to pay fully.based on the cutoff u got in 12th standard.and finally i got seat in the college and i am now 3rd year.hostel is good but coming to food.need more improvement.

Campus Life : medium rated and we also had expwrienced staffs as i mentioned abve. Also we have experienced staffs.for we can join the college and study well they let us free and not very strict but they want to maintain discipline.

There are more than 500 companies will for placements. Compared to other branches our branch have least number of placements. We don't have pure aeronautical companies. But companies like Infosis, tech mahindhra etc will offer job for aeronautical students. Even some of the mechanical companies will offer jobs for us.

College Events :

College is very supportive for extra curricular activities. We will have intercollegiate fest and also intercollegiate fest. Even MBA students have their own fest. We celebrate Onam, Krishna janmastami, ayudha Pooja, etc. Even we have several clubs like speakers club. There will be some workshops for juniors.
