Ques. Which one would be better: production in Jadavpur university, power in Jadavpur university, mechanical in Jalpaiguri, or government engineering or mechanical in Kalyani govt. engineering?

● Top Answer By Prerona Datta on 22 Oct 21

Ans. Choose the course that interests you, college is a secondary thing. Here are some of the facts that may help you in choosing the right branch for you. If you want to work in PSUs or Govt. sectors, it’s better to not choose Production Engineering as there are fewer recruiters. Jadavpur is the best college you can get through WBJEE. If you choose Production or Power in JU, you will have good on-campus job opportunities. Production Engineering is a branch of Mechanical Engineering itself. The syllabus will be more or less the same.  Mechanical at Kalyani University will be slightly better than Jalpaiguri. You may not get lucrative job packages at on-campus placement from Kalyani University but in the long run, you will have a much better hold with your Mechanical degree. You can expect well-paid jobs in the future.  Your future will depend on the branch you are choosing so choose according to your interest. All these Universities will offer you enough opportunities and resources to prosper. It’s up to you to use that well. Read more

Ques. How is electrical engineering at UIT Burdwan University?

● Top Answer By Aaditya Hari Nair on 28 Sept 21

Ans. Overall, UIT Burdwan University is not that great. However, if you are only considering the electrical engineering department of the institute, then it is quite good. The faculties are extremely supportive and helpful towards students. They are well-experienced. But don’t expect to score easily. You will have to study hard to score good marks in examinations.  The institute offers good lab amenities as well. However, unlike many other universities, UIT Burdwan University does not quite provide the best technical or practical knowledge. It is up to you to make the most of your time at the institute. Read more

In my college there are so many programs going on, every year we celebrate tech fest competitions for students in the months of December or January. The availability of books is good with a big library are in my college. As to talk about the amenities in the classroom some students are interested and conduct some programs, sports competitions are held in months of February A social group of NSUI is in my college.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I have chosen this course because I have wanted to prepare for government exams through which I will get a government job. About my faculty it's good and knowledge is better one of my teachers has cracked the Gate exam at 9th ranks and in my class, about 50 students are present daily. College also conducts semester exams on that basis they give internal marks.

Internships Opportunities :

As in my college area there are so many companies as industrial area are offering internship as Indorama spentex industrial LTD company gave opportunity to many students with good stipend about 10000 Our college make projects on Innovation technology and participate in government project competition events.

Admission :

I got admission through CAP process. For admission they also took into account the PCM marks and CET score. 50:50 ratio. The intake was 60 students. The students who got less marks in CET and PCM (12th Std) got themselves admitted through Management quota paying 2-3 lacs fees over and above fees for that year. The dates were as per AICTE rules.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

Expensive then. compared to what other colleges had. Although not much of a placement and faculty was also not that great but still the fees were at a higher side. There was also a management quota which charged fees of almost 2. 4 to 3 lacsboevr and above fees for admitting students with less CET and PCM marks.

Alumni/Alumna :

No alumni network I have experienced though after 12 years of passing out from the college. However the seniors were very helpful during viva assessment, sharing our knowledge during submissions, practicals etc. I had once got a mail from alumni network for ACPCE Alumni Meet "ReLive-2018".

Placement Experience :

From 7 semester students are eligible for campus placement. Infosys, L&T, Bajaj, and mainly many IT companies are come for placement. Highest package is 500000 per annum and average package is 25000 per annum. But placed students number is very less. 20 to 30% students are placed in company. My plan is to prepare for GATE Exam after getting degree.

Course Curriculum Overview :

This college contain 40:1 teacher Student ratio. Faculty quality is not so good. Facultys are mainly from degree some of them are from or p.hd. Exams are very easy question are mainly come from previous years question papers. One midterm and one final exam has taken by the college.

Campus Life :

The campus life is very good. Annual fest is waltz and tech fest name is utkrist. Collage library contain more then 10000 books. The class room is clean. Inter College sports was happend every year.

Placement Experience :

There was 100% placement through campus. Companies like Oracle, Wipro and TCS hired students for an average of 3. 5-4 lakh per annum whereas the highest package offered was 6. 5 lakh per annum. For the previous 4th year batch. Companies like Oracle Wipro. Tata consultancy services and many such multi national companies came for the placements. Students also had an opportunity to get hold of government jobs like in TRANSCO. The placements are good. So if you manage to get the minimum pointer with knowledge, placement is guaranteed. We do get companies like Wipro, Accenture, Dee Shaw, JP Morgan and many more.

Remarks :

I had opted for this college on basis of its reputation of being the most prestigious engineering Institute in Telangana. I would like to mention that we have a 75% requirement of attendance, we can manage it while doing the things we like. Principal and members in office are very understanding in all ways be it late payment of fees due to any personal problems or granting scholarships to students or the faculty writing the letter of requirements for the students who want to pursue their masters in the US. The environment is very peaceful, with all the trees and fresh air.

Admission :

The admission process for the BTech program at UCEOU is entrance-based. The applicants are required to appear in the EAMCET exam and must have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Maths in intermediate. I got admission after second counselling so don't feel bad if your not allotted a seat in first and second counselling try even in third counselling because there will be more chances to secure a seat as many students may shift to iit's, nit's later. For polytechnic students, they must write ecet student to procure a seat in 2nd year.

College Events :

Gender ratio is 1:1. the campus is completely free from gender religious or any other discrimination and students live very prosperously. Sports events are periodically organised by students such as intra college cricket tournaments and football tournaments. The college holds an Annual Award function every year for awarding the previous year academic toppers. Freestyle presentation and technical fests take place in the month of april and match throughout which classes do not commence and all the students from 1st year to 4th year participate. Students from other colleges are invited and many events are organised for their enjoyment.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The institution earned its name due to the hard struggle of the faculty present in the college. There is head of Department for each subject who oversees all the academic functioning and makes sure the students are given the adequate information they require to know. The semester exams are conducted in the months of December and may. In each semester there are 6 theory exams and 3 lab exams (number of subjects and labs changes accordingly with the semester). The exam structure is very relaxing. With a gap of 2 days between every theory exam and 10 days gap before exams for preparation.

Remarks :

I had opted for this college on basis of its reputation of being the most prestigious engineering Institute in Telangana. My cousin studies in ou and everytime she applauds the college she is exposed to enormous freedom here. So utilizing that freedom in good way can improve our career in many ways so I opted for this college. There are lot of facilities like library, GYM, computer labs are available. We have to use the resources and get developed.
