Every year the Institute organizes cultural events for the students in both the semesters. The academic session starts with a fresher’s day “Aavahan”. This program is exclusively designed for the fresh students joining the Institute. the Institute hosts a Techno-Cultural event “Aayaam”. This program hosts large number of events. Nearly 1500-2000 students take part in this event. Currently college library of SGSITS is fully flagged with good quality of high cost standard reference and text - books, world reputed International and National research journals, theses, project reportsand electronic learning resources in all disciplines of technical education. Amenities provided in the classroom are podium benches, stage for the faculty, a. c. , fans, tubelights and tables. Games like Football, Cricket, Badminton, Volleyball, Throw ball, Basketball, Netball, Chess, Table Tennis are being played. Clubs in the college: Ojasva, Pratibimb, Kshitij, E-Cell.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I was really fascinated towards electronic devices and it's functioning . Along with that I was very curious to know how different process and operations took place inside the electronic machinery, therefore I took this course and luckily with the tank which I got in Jee mains exam helped me to enter in this course. The faculty -student ratio is very good in our college. For every 10 students there is 1 faculty is being allotted. Mast of the faculties have competed there PhD's from their respective branches. Along with that the Junior faculties have completed their mtech from it's. Talking about the teaching method opted by the teachers is very much advanced. Most of the conceptual topics are being taught on using videos and 3d views. Every months mid semester examinations are being taken and along with that at every 5 months end semester examinations are being conducted.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I liked the course first and I thought I could try something new so I took this course. Faculty Student ratio is 15:54. Most of the faculties are Ph.D. holders and have many years of experience in teaching. There was 2 internals in 1 semester. And there are 8 semesters in total.

the campus is the best in Banglore but not as good as top-tier college if you are interested in Social Life and Clubs, Bangalore is best but uses it good purpose or it may waste your time and time is money, my friend RVCE conducts the best fest in Bangalore called '8th mile' once in 2 years but they haven't conducted it in the last 3 years RVCE Ecell hosts E SUMMIT which is another biggest fest that they conduct every year there is a huge collection of books & journals in the library but nobody reads it all classrooms are well-ventilated, not air-conditioned, and neat the wifi depends on each branch and is very good in EIE there is a huge opportunity for those who are interested in sports & extra-curricular activities but unfortunately, there's only one ground left to play as all grounds are taken in the name of construction there are numerous social groups, and clubs run by students the best are ecell, ashwa racing, quiz corp, and block learning. please do join the club in the 1st yr

Course Curriculum Overview:

the course curriculum & faculty members are good I choose this course because I wanted electronics and with my rank, this was only the course I was getting and wanted to change brank to EC but now I understood this was the best branch if you want free time and electronics and the syllabus is almost the same compared to EC faculty: student ratio is 3:32 which is fine in Karnataka Qualification of the faculty is top notch because most of them are PhD from top IIT and their teaching method is very old school like every Indian college because everything is studied by us and not by the teacher there are 3 internals and they take the best of two and each term is completed within 4 months and talking about the difficulty level it is easy to pass but it's difficult to score above 9 cgpa and very very difficult to change branch if you thinking about branch change please don't try RVCE

Ques. Which would be a better choice, instrumentation in BITS Goa campus or instrumentation at NIT Trichy?

● Top Answer By Vineet Kumar Singh on 24 Aug 21

Ans. There is nothing called instrumentation engineering. The students usually study the syllabus of the electronic branch that includes learning low-level languages along with the complete command of them.  There is a very high demand for highly skilled engineers who know the top programming languages like TopCoder, GitHub, and many more.  Learning these languages totally depends upon the person that they can do without going to college. Becoming an electronics engineer totally depends upon the person, and their effort, not the college.  Some of the students follow the GATE syllabus to enter into the government sectors.  Some get recruitment in top private companies by learning these programming languages. The college can help you out only by giving a proper study environment that can promote your overall development.  If you wish to join the private sector, then only the placement facility provided by the college is useful to you. Categories Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering at BITS Goa Instrumentation and Control Engineering at NIT Trichy Course Fee 19.19 lakh 5.65 lakh Highest CTC 24 LPA 22 LPA Average CTC 12 LPA 10-11 LPA Recruiting Companies Texas Instruments, Qualcomm, Western Digital, JP Morgan, etc. TCS, Infosys, Reliance, Morgan Stanley, etc. Last but not least we can say that the college for the instrumentation branch is the version of the electronics branch of engineering. It totally depends on you how much effort you are putting into the same and not depend on the college.Read more

Ques. Which is the better option, HBTU electronic engineering or IET Lucknow ECE?

● Top Answer By Neha Patel on 06 Aug 21

Ans. Choosing a particular college or a department actually depends on you, and how you want to shape your career ahead. Having known some people who study in both these institutions, I can say that they all have their fair share of strengths and weaknesses.  I might not be able to help you select one among them, because they are both good in their own ways. So, I will share some information about them which might help you make the choice. ECE at IET Lucknow has one of the finest faculty. They also have a great student crowd. HBTU also has highly experienced faculty members. Placements at HBTU are also much better than IET Lucknow. The enrolled candidates of the GATE exam are really great. They also offer a vast alumni network unlike IET. Categories Electrical Engineering at HBTU ECE at IET Lucknow Course Fee 5.17 lakhs 3.44 lakhs Highest CTC 29 LPA 18 LPA Average CTC 16 LPA 8-9 LPA Recruiting Companies Phillips, Havells, TCS, Aditya Birla, etc. TCS, DE Shaw, Barclays, Code Nation, etc. It is suggested that you go for the more experienced institute, as it will prove to be better for your career ahead. You will get to learn new skills and take part in seminars and industry visits, to get a slice of the corporate world.Read more

Ques. How good are the placements and packages for electronics and instrumentation in BITS Pilani?

● Top Answer By Manoj Sureka on 19 Jul 21

Ans. According to one of my friends studying at BITS Pilani, it is a good college offering appropriate placement opportunities to its students. As you are a student of BITS Pilani, your appreciation should see an exponential increase gradually. In the long run, students who pursued computer science or any other course most of the time end up getting the same packages as electronics and instrumentation. BITS Pilani boasts of a placement record of 100%. You will be provided guidance and training for the interviews by the institute’s Central Placement Cell. The top companies visiting the campus include Honda, PwC, Hitachi, Infosys, etc. Categories Electronics and Instrumentation at BITS Pilani Course Fee 19.19 lakh Highest CTC 21 LPA Average CTC 11 LPA Recruiting Companies Phillips, Tech Mahindra, CTS, Havells, etc. Last year, great packages were offered to EEE students with an average package of INR 18-22 LPA. They were placed in companies such as CISCO, Micron, Qualcomm, etc. The rest went either for the IT sector, consultancy or analytics.Read more

Ques. Which is better, 'KJ Somaiya - Electronics engineering' OR 'Vivekanand - Electronics and Telecommunication engineering'?

● Top Answer By Shivani Krishnamurthy on 31 Aug 21

Ans. Having known some people studying in these colleges, I can tell you that both colleges are really good in their own ways. But, you should consider the following before you make any decision: KJ Somaiya has slowly improved over the years and now is considered much better than Mumbai University (MU). Vivekanand is known to keep track of attendance which is not the case with KJ Somaiya. If you are considering doing Electronics, you should know that Electronics and Telecommunications has an upper edge. The exams at KJ Somaiya are tougher than MU. This is because MU repeats a lot of previous years’ questions. You will get a 5 day holiday in MU before a semester paper. At KJ, you will only get a day or two. Therefore, at KJ, your exams will be hectic. The semesters end pretty quickly at KJ as opposed to MU.  MU students only get one month’s leave after a semester ends. For KJ, this leave is for 2 months.  You can utilize this time to look for internships and other activities that will help strengthen your resume. Electronics has a few subjects like digital communication which might overlap with telecommunications. Categories EE at KJ Somaiya ETC at Vivekananda (MU) Course Fee 13.50 lakhs 4.52 lakhs Highest CTC 12 LPA 9-10 LPA Average CTC 5-8 LPA 4.5 - 5 LPA Recruiting Companies L&T, TCS, Phillips, Schneider Electric, etc. JP Morgan, Tata Power, Mercedes, Microsoft, etc. Both the colleges are even. It will finally depend on where your interests lie and what you would like to do. Find out if you are more interested in telecommunications or just core electronics, then choose accordingly.  Electronics will teach you more about electronic components, circuits and other basic ideas that might be required in general electronics. Telecommunications will only give you a deeper understanding of communication technologies.Read more

Ques. What should I choose: Electronics and Instrumentation in BITS Pilani Goa Campus, Electrical and Electronics in NIT Surathkal?

● Top Answer By Ankit Chaudhari on 21 Mar 23

Ans. To make an informed decision, it's crucial to understand that changing your choice based on the college you get into won't have much impact. You should acknowledge that Electronics and Instrumentation in BITS Pilani Goa Campus and Electrical and Electronics in NIT Surathkal are two distinct engineering streams with different colleges, and both colleges are excellent in their own right. Your selection of the branch should entirely depend on your interest. If you are intrigued by electrical or electronic circuits or have been fascinated by electricity since childhood, EEE is the perfect fit for you. Conversely, if you have an interest in instruments or daily life gadgets that make our lives more comfortable, you should opt for E&I. Keep in mind that EEE focuses on circuit design and development, while E&I focuses on circuit implementation in industries or the real world. EEE is a core branch that concentrates on its domain, but E&I combines all other core branches such as Mechanical, Electronics, Electrical, and even Computer Science. Both EEE and E&I offer excellent job prospects in the market. E&I graduates can work in core fields or software industries. There is a plethora of industries related to electrical and electronics, so EEE also offers ample job opportunities. Therefore, both branches are exceptional in their way. Choose the one that piques your interest and don't sacrifice your area of interest due to college selection.Read more
