Campus Life :

Being an all girls college the gender ratio is irrelevant. And having no hostel facility, dorm parties are out of the scene. There is although a quaint little freshers' party, which is in no way glamourous. Individual course streams held their own workshops and seminars. As for diversity, it is like any other college in Calcutta, with a mixed bunch of all religion and ethnicities. Honestly, no one cared about the differences and we didn't really feel all that different. We all came together during our college excursions and inspections.

Faculty :

Apart from our Head of Department, Textile Science professor and computer designing professor, most of out lecturers were guest lecturers, who are common faces in NIFT Kolkata, INIFD Kolkata and other fashion colleges in Kolkata. We even had the fortune opportunity of getting our fashion illustration and pattern making classes taken by teachers who have trained a notable designer like Sabyasachi.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The curriculum was well rounded. It focused on apparel and textiles more than anything else. So hand illustration, computer aided designing and textile science was very important. Unlike most fashion colleges there weren't any specialisation during graduation, so later on we had the option to select our desired path, be it garment designing, textile designing, merchandising and marketing.

Placement Experience :

This year for placements 5-6 companies came which were Puma, Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein, Bestseller, Angadi with the job profile of fashion consultant and visual merchandising. In total 20-25 students got placed in one or the other company. The process involves 3 rounds, first is the written test in which the company gives a questionnaire to be done students are selected accordingly, second is the group discussion where you are divided into group's one by one the group's are called on the spot a topic related to fashion or general is given about which you have to speak in the given time limit again students are selected accordingly, last is the personal interview the students selected are called for interview in the company, students who make it to PI are selected students for the job.

Campus Life :

The campus is a bit small than other college campues but it is very attractive and looks like a proepr designing college. There are some issues but other wise the college is good. The location of the campus is a bit isolated. It's between this industrial area in Bangalore, doddabalapura, apparel park in middle of manufacturing companies and industries. So there is nothing around the college. As the area is isolated the college doesn't let any student go out in college hours till it's very important. Other than that college has a canteen with homely food for lunch and has a all the equipment's neend for the studies.

Internships Opportunities :

We have to do a compulsory internship between our 2nd and 3rd year of college. I worked at Matrix Clothing Pvt LTD in Gurgaon. I worked without stipend. I was working with the menswear merchandising department. I learnt alot about production of clothing, design development and all the other departments related to it. It helped me understand the next semester of my college well and even I could relate to things which were taught in college before. I even designed 3-4 t-shirt samples for superdry Autumn/Winter collection 2020 during my internship.

There is a very easy process to get admission in this fashion School. First of all you have to apply for the admission through the official website of the college then you have to wait for the confirmation of your admission from the faculty of the college. There was a recent Paris Fashion tour which was held at our college. Also some of the student gained the internship at Paris so that they can polish their skills. Apart from it, there are Sports Day celebrations, ethnic day, spectrum week and an event which was known as fashionite which help discover the hidden talent of the students.

College Events :

Yeah this is fun, so we had our freshers party which is held by our seniors they are really fun, actually, our college is out of showoffs, its full of coziness and smiling face, then we had cooking competition, well I have to say our college don't engage a lot of events, well the sports day held along with some other competitions like essay, drawing, etc, now a picnic is happening on IBIZA resort on 6th Feb, am super excited for it.

Admission :

So I got to know about this college from google, admission form was put online, I gave all the required information and submitted, once the merit list came on June I was on the first list, they asked to make the payment via online, and asked to come for verifications of documents, there was a long queue and I had some problem with documents so they gave another day for me. That's how I got admitted to RBGC.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

I am studyint B.fad (Honour), it's a 3-year course or 6 semesters. The total fees of this course are 90,000, payment is given at the end of each semester 15,000rs for each semester. Talking about the other expenses, its quite a lot, my travel expenses takes me about 70-80rs/day other than that the regular assignment expenses, raw materials etc cost about 1000-2000rs/month.

Placement Experience :

The college has a record of 100% placements since last few years. It provides job in certain fields of fashion as per student's interest. Average Package is 2-3lks per annum. Yes it does provide internship in different fields, stipend may or may not be given as it depends on the type of work you are doing.

Alumni/Alumna :

There is a well maintained team of present students, faculty members and the alumni of the college to guide the students for their bright future and practical knowledge of the field. Students sometimes have their own contacts with seniors which helps them for internships and proper guidance.

Remarks :

Overall it is a nice institute to learn everything about fashion & design. But there are a lot of rules and restrictions as it is an army college and it need to maintain the discipline. It has very compact sized population in the campus which makes the campus life a little boring.

Faculty :

The faculty in the fashion designing department are actually very qualified and experienced. Also, they are not very strict and let us talk and share ideas in the classroom sessions. It helps us learn a lot and also share our creative ideas. I think the professors here are very good and knowledgeable.

Placement Experience :

Vogue Institute has good tieups for placements. Tommy Hilfiger, Levis, Lifestyle, Mysore Sareer Udyog, Shopper's Stop, Wills Lifestyle, Raymond, Gini and Jony and Big Bazaar are a few of the companies that come here for campus placement. There is a placement department in the college.

College Events :

In Vogue college, we will always be having some or the other kind of celebration and functions. Also, every year there will be a fashion show in the college where students from all the departments will work together. It is a great time for every one and best time in college life.

Admission :

You can either go for the online or offline mode of admission at the Vogue Institute of Art & Fashion. I went for the online mode of admission that only requires filling up the online application form and submitting the same. Vogue Institute of Art & Design has no entrance examination procedure for selection. I went for admission here as it is highly ranked amongst other colleges.

Campus Life :

Vogue Institute of Art & Design invites students from different parts of the country with a good male & female ratio. The campus life is also great with provisions for fun-filled activities. There are rules for entry & exit in the college. Fashion design labs are there for us to gain practical knowledge of the subject

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course curriculum is very well design and it fulfills the need of a bachelor level program in the domain of fashion and designing. The structure of exam is a semester wise manner. Each year of study has two semester examinations termed as the odd and even semester examination. The semester examinations evaluate both the practical and theoretical knowledge in the subjects. In between this end semester examinations practical tests, unit tests etc are conducted.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The Delhi State government offers scholarship to the students who are studying in colleges in Delhi and are from the educationally backward classes of society, economically weaker sections or are from reserved categories. Apart from that the central government offers scholarship through its national scholarship portal to the students. Educational loans are also extended by the private sector and the public sector banks.
