Ques. How good is the Geology department at Hansraj College for UG?

● Top Answer By Admin on 30 Oct 21

Ans. One of my friends studied at Hansraj College. According to him, the Geology department is not up to the mark. Here’s mentioning some things that proved to be a disappointment for the students. The placements are underwhelming. No reputed organization ever recruits students from this department. The classes are irregular and no discipline or decorum is maintained. Since it has the curriculum standards of DU, students are put under a lot of pressure to mug up elaborate theories. The practical classes are uninteresting, basically because it is not much focussed on. Classes of B.Sc. Geology is held outside the main campus where students tend to feel alienated from others. They have very little exposure hence less placements. Lastly, there is no geology society, where you can learn specific things about the course, get in-hand training, etc.  Therefore, if you want to do B.Sc. then opt for some other subject or you can do a BA or B.Com. from DU as they will provide better scope than Geology.Read more

Placement Experience :

During my final semester, i got many chances to appear in the campus interview. More than 30 companies come to our college for campus interview in my last semester. Companies like wipro, TCS, Infosys, iGATE, Amazon, HDFC Bank etc recruit students from our college. They offered minimum salary package of 3 lakh per annum. More than 65 percent of the students got recruited in the campus interview.

Campus Life :

The college gives many opportunities to the students to develop their hidden talents and personalities by organizing many extracurricular activities like tree plantation, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, free health check up camps, NCC, NSS, Cultural functions, literary competitions etc. We really develop many qualities by participating in all the activities.

Admission :

The admission process was very good in our college. It was based on the marks obtained in the last qualifying examination. I got admission in this course after qualifying my senior secondary science examination with 70 percent marks. After fulfilling the marks requirement, students can directly take admission in this course.

Admission :

admission is on the basis of merit for our group and start to fill the application form which can be done offline and online and then we have to wait for the cutoff to and then the college Windsor merit list finally.

Placement Experience :

Companies that visited the campus for their placement drives, for your course. Discuss the general steps followed in the recruitment drive of these companies. What is the tentative percentage of students placed every year from your campus? Did the institution take special steps to prepare the students for the placement important.

Faculty :

Behaviour the tentative number of lecturers in your course, along with the average age and qualification, as per the hierarchy. Comment on the expertise held by them in providing clarity about the subject, to the students. Did the lecturers hold any relevant industry-experience or certifications.

Course Curriculum Overview :

My college teacher students Briefly, explain the learning imparted as a part of your curriculum. Was the curriculum groomed to provide industry-specific knowledge to the students, that’d be helpful in securing on-campus placements? Were any industrial visits organized for the students.

Faculty :

They are very friendly and we thus shared a good bond and many memories with them. All the faculty are well qualified. They are very interactive with us. The teaching quality is also good. They had very good knowledge of their subjects.

Placement Experience :

There is no placement scenario for students about my knowledge. It provides only for those students who have to complete their Master in Science. There is not much internship. It's only for M.Sc students it has been kept.

Remarks :

Our college is one of the best private colleges who provides the courses with affordable fees. It has an environment of study and faculty guide us about our academic and placements.
