Ques. How is Swami Shraddhanand College for a B.Sc (Hons.) in Physics? How are the laboratories and faculty?

● Top Answer By Shekhar Sumann on 09 Nov 21

Ans. I have a few friends from Swami Shraddhanand College. Based on their experience, it is a good option for pushing a B.Sc (Hons.) in Physics.  Placement at the institute is based on the experience that you gain through internships. Salaries in the placement drive are offered according to your skill and experience. Companies like ICICI Bank, HDFC, visit the campus for placements.  There is an internship cell on campus that helps students get internship offers.  The college also has a commerce department, that deals with activities related to business, marketing, etc. The infrastructure of the institute is quite good. There are facilities like wifi, computer labs, smart classes, a library, etc.  Overall, Swami Shraddhanand College offers good placement and facilities for the Physics department. Read more

Ques. Which college is better, Deshbandhu College or Swami Shraddhanand College for a B. Sc in physics?

● Top Answer By Aaditya Hari Nair on 04 Oct 21

Ans. If you consider the physics branch, Deshbandhu college is a better choice. Here are some reasons to consider it over Swami Shraddhanand College for a B.Sc in physics: Their physics department is really good with a highly experienced faculty. They have good laboratories and over 20 lab assistants in the physics department. The library consists of a really good collection of Physics books as well as other reading and research materials. Their students' performance is very good in exams like JAM or JEST. They have a Physics Society and many activities are organized by this society of Deshbandhu college. It is said to be really good. If you are thinking of college placements and it is your concern then forget to get placed from any of these colleges.  The only way is to prepare for IIT JAM, JEST, etc. exams for further studies in physics. The connectivity of transportation of Deshbandhu college is better than the Swami Shraddhanand college because it is far away outside Delhi that is the college is located on karnal GT road. Therefore, choose the one that meets your requirements.Read more

Ques. How is Fergusson College Pune for BSc in physics?

● Top Answer By Aaditya Hari Nair on 28 Sept 21

Ans. If physics is your passion, and you genuinely want to learn, this is not the place for you. One of my friends studied here and these are some things he mentioned. The faculty is good but they have limited course material. You would not feel like you have learned much.  Most students take up physics in their final years because they know they can easily memorize the course material and pass. This is just so that they can improve their grades.  Mugging up theories is definitely not how someone can learn science.  They don’t have a real interest in the subject anyway and they would be your peers. The system at Fergusson is not great and you wouldn’t want to attend classes as it would not matter and you will pass your exams regardless. If you are only looking for a college life minus the studies and want to have some fun with fests and events, by all means, join Fergusson because marks and knowledge are secondary here.Read more

Ques. What can I do after doing an integrated M.Sc in photonics at CUSAT?

● Top Answer By Aaditya Hari Nair on 20 Jul 21

Ans. There are two options that you can pursue after an integrated M.Sc in photonics at CUSAT. Industry Jobs - The jobs offered by the photonics industry of India are mostly sales. Yes, there are jobs in the telecommunications industry especially in the fiber optics sector which could fetch you some very good technical roles as well. Research - Photonics is one of the very interesting topics to research upon. The field offers some very good opportunities in India as well as abroad. However, very few educational institutions in India have a photonics department and they also prefer physics students when they hire their professors. So getting a teaching job may also become difficult. Anyway, if you are really interested in the subject then nothing should come between your choice because opportunities will appear over time.Read more

Course Curriculum Overview :

1) Course curriculum: there are various kinds of courses in FC like arts, science, media, photography, computer science, etc. also, FC has the best laboratory for every course to explore more and has 'BAI JERBAI WADIA LIBRARY' which is one of the biggest libraries 15900sq ft one of the best things about this college is their extracurricular activities which will help you to explore more. About Hons. degree in FC: In 1st yr, you have to choose 4 subjects out of which you have to choose 3 subjects in 2nd yr and at last in the final yr you have to choose 1 subject 2) Faculty in FC: faculty is really good at FC than the other will find highly qualified teachers like Ph.D., came from IIT's ISSER, etc. but yes you will find some bad teachers also which is the case of every college every year you have two-semester of four-month and in each semester you have to give two CE exam (25 Marks) and it's not that difficult to pass an exam.

Campus Life :

from my experience, I can assure you that you will experience one of the best campus and social life in FC. 1) Annual fest: It happens in the month of Nov-Dec. every department like mathematics, physics, geology, CS, etc..organizes their own fest and you can participate in any of them. Fest organizes for near about 7-8 days, but trust me you will never forget this period.there are tie & saree day, dance preprogram, exhibitions, and many more. 2) Wadia Library: This library is one of the biggest libraries in Maharastra. you will find each and every kind of book here. 3) Amenities in the classroom: You will find an elevated classroom like in the 3-idiot movie also sliding green boards are there 4) Sports: if you are a kind of sportsperson then this college is best for you. you will find a badminton court, table tennis court, basketball ground, tennis court, cricket ground, football ground, wallyball ground, and a lot more

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Campus Life :

When we talk about the fest, no other college can beat Kokrajhar Government College. In the springtime, Bodo new year is celebrated called Baisagu ong with the concert, dancing and many more. Mountain climbing sport is also held. And any event related to traditional is celebrated. Celebrities are invited to perform. But most of the fest is held during Autumn and winter. There are so many cultural fests that I am confused about what to mention. Some of the social group are on Facebook. Kokrajhar Government College(KGC). The library is a good place to relax and do your homework. When we talk about our college library, we don't need the internet as all the books of all types are found, be it social, philosophy, science, tech, literature, etc, Sports enthusiastic people can join our college as not other college give you that many chances.

Campus Life :

It was college for males students as such no wonderful moments. But once there was a agitation for a peculiar reason for hostel amenities, we were in home for a month due to indefinite closure of college. There was no race or ragging issues. One of my friend was little wealthier who spent money for me.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

It was about Rs. 1000 per year overall since it is Govt aided college. In addition to we spent money for camps and social works through college. we paid laborotary charges for damage clause we will get only about 50 percent only out of Rs. 1000 paid. College would give proper receipts in detail.

Course Curriculum Overview :

For physics scope is less. It would have some weight if we did post graduate during that time. Financial crisis let me not to do my post graduate. Scope of getting jobs all depends on where we study and guidance by lecturers and there was no industry in Trichy by that time and even now.
