Course structure

The course is structured in a very systematic manner so as to provide all the necessary basic as well as in-depth knowledge of the various subjects and topics required for the understanding of Social Sciences by a student. Along with the traditional classroom method, students are also taken for field trips in order to get the real life situations to handle and a practical knowledge of the various areas of understanding. The students are also supposed to attend various lab sessions which include computer applications in order to understand the application of concepts related to computers.

The course structure also expects students to learn aspects of research methodology which helps them not only on the academic level in researching and devising new social theories and hypotheses but also enhances the research skills required for data sampling, data collection, surveying etc. Research methodology becomes helpful for research scholars, data analysts and data organizers in various sectors of employment like rural health and development, education development etc.

Scheme of Assessment:

The students are evaluated on the basis of their performance in written external examinations and on internal assessment which includes the laboratories, field experiences, projects and assignments and also research papers.

Community Organisation	Community Organisation not only helps understand the concept of community but also helps understand the steps in formation of a community and how a community can be organized to work in a better manner. It is a management field course.
Agriculture and Allied Activities	Agriculture forms the biggest source of income in India and the study of agriculture and allied activities like dairy farming etc. become integral to the understanding of a student of Social Sciences.
Education Policies and Programs	The legal aspects of education and the educational policies related to it are important to understand the basic literacy rate in a community.
Health Policies and Programs	Health becomes the priority for a social scientist to understand because it always remains on the top in the list of policies.
Local Self-Governance	The local self governance like Gram Panchayat etc. are important in understanding the governance areas in India.
Social Welfare Administration	Social welfare and social work go hand-in-hand, and hence, the study of social welfare administration brings a kind of new understanding in a student of social science.
