Ans. Kalyani University is a very popular institution and pursuing an engineering degree from this university has its own pros and cons. Some of my friends studied there and here are the things I got to know from them. Pros  This institution is owned and run by the government. The complete fees for your 4 years of graduation is less compared to other private colleges. The faculty of this college is very good and all other staff members such as lab assistant, office staff, canteen staff are very helpful.  The university also hires some external professors having years of industry experience to teach and guide the students.  This gets them accustomed to the corporate culture.  The total number of students in this department is less so you will always have the chance to interact with your professors. Cons One of the biggest demerits of this university is that it doesn't have a proper placement cell in its campus.  Securing a job offer is tough, and you have to take the initiative yourself. The infrastructure of this college is average. The computer lab, electronics lab, instrumentation lab don't have adequate facilities.  The campus is located in a remote area. Ans. Having known some people studying in these colleges, I can tell you that both colleges are really good in their own ways. But, you should consider the following before you make any decision: KJ Somaiya has slowly improved over the years and now is considered much better than Mumbai University (MU). Vivekanand is known to keep track of attendance which is not the case with KJ Somaiya. If you are considering doing Electronics, you should know that Electronics and Telecommunications has an upper edge. The exams at KJ Somaiya are tougher than MU. This is because MU repeats a lot of previous years’ questions. You will get a 5 day holiday in MU before a semester paper. At KJ, you will only get a day or two. Therefore, at KJ, your exams will be hectic. The semesters end pretty quickly at KJ as opposed to MU.  MU students only get one month’s leave after a semester ends. For KJ, this leave is for 2 months.  You can utilize this time to look for internships and other activities that will help strengthen your resume. Electronics has a few subjects like digital communication which might overlap with telecommunications. Ans. EE at IIT Dhanbad is unquestionably superior to NIT Calicut’s ECE. According to some of my friends studying at IIT Dhanbad, you should never lose the chance of studying at IIT Dhanbad.  So far as the branch is concerned, there is a minor difference.  ECE is more concerned with IT than EE.  But it doesn't matter if you're in a prestigious institution.  In reality, almost all branch students learn to code and apply to tech companies at IIT. You will have plenty of opportunities to learn whatever you want at the institution.  It is entirely up to you whether you want to work in core companies or IT companies after completing EE. Ans. There is nothing called instrumentation engineering. The students usually study the syllabus of the electronic branch that includes learning low-level languages along with the complete command of them.  There is a very high demand for highly skilled engineers who know the top programming languages like TopCoder, GitHub, and many more.  Learning these languages totally depends upon the person that they can do without going to college. Becoming an electronics engineer totally depends upon the person, and their effort, not the college.  Some of the students follow the GATE syllabus to enter into the government sectors.  Some get recruitment in top private companies by learning these programming languages. The college can help you out only by giving a proper study environment that can promote your overall development.  If you wish to join the private sector, then only the placement facility provided by the college is useful to you. Course Curriculum Overview :

Course curriculum was almost the same for all branches till the third year and the only difference was jumbling of subjects across branches. While coming to the electives, we had no option in our college to select the elective of our choice and the college management decided the elective which we have to choose based on the availability of the faculty.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The fee structure for a counselling student is as per the norms of the government and JNTU Hyderabad. but, whereas for a management student it would very costly. And as I was a counselling student , I ended up paying 28500 every year. Moreover, management used to lieu heavy fines for the students who' have low attendance.

Admission :

Wrote EAMCET exam in the year 2007 after finishing my intermediate. Cleared the EAMCET exam by securing a rank of 25000 out of 180000 students who appeared for the exam. After securing the rank, attended the first phase of counselling and secure vathsalya college.
