Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Electronics and Telecommunications or Telecom Engineering is a 4 year undergraduate engineering course, minimum eligibility for which is an intermediate degree (10+2) with Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry or any other technical subject (Computer/ Biotechnology/ Biology).

Eligibility Criteria for B.Tech in Electronics and Telecom Engineering

For availing admission in a B.Tech program for Electronics and Telecom Engineering, the candidate must have successfully passed the higher secondary certificate (10+2) examination or its equivalent with subjects Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry or any other technical subjects such as Biology, Computer Science, etc.

Candidates need to score a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate in three major subjects taken together. SC/ST and other reserved categories have an advantage of 5% relaxation in total marks. English can also  be one of the mandatory subjects in the qualifying examination, however, this can vary from university to university.

For IITs, it is compulsory to qualify in the JEE Mains and Advanced examination.

Diploma degree holders can get admission directly in B.Tech second year with lateral entry. They have to follow some admission rules as per the university.

The admission process for B.Tech in Electronics and Telecom Engineering Engineering is based on the performance in the entrance examinations: state level or national level engineering entrance examinations such as AIEEE or JEE. Some institutes also provide direct admission via Board Merit list considering the marks obtained in the qualifying exam.

  • Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MH CET)MH-CET is a common entrance test conducted in Maharashtra for providing undergraduate and postgraduate admissions in engineering & technology and pharmacy courses offered by various government and private colleges of Maharashtra state. Online application forms are available in February and examination is held in May first week. The basic eligibility for undergraduate courses is pass in 10+2 (HSC). The exam pattern is MCQ based.
  • Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test (AP or TS EAMCET) – AP EAMCET is a state level entrance examination conducted by JNTU Kakinada on behalf of the Andhra Pradesh State Council for Higher Education (APSCHE) while JNTU Hyderabad regulates the TS EAMCET on behalf of the Telangana State Council for Higher Education (TSCHE). Application forms for EAMCET are released in first week of February. AP-EAMCET exam is held in last week of April every year whereas TS EAMCET exam is held in the month of May.
  • West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) – WBJEE is a state level entrance examination for the purpose of conducting Joint Entrance Examination for admission to various institutions in West Bengal imparting education in medical, engineering and technological courses. Examination is held in month of April every year and application forms are available in January.

Ans. Opt for IIITDM Kancheepuram for Mechanical rather than ECE at NIT Puducherry. Here are some reasons as to why I feel so. Faculty: The faculty members at IIITDM Kancheepuram are highly experienced, some of them even have PhDs from the top IITs. At NIT Puducherry the faculty are not that experienced and are also few in number. Infrastructure: IIITDM Kancheepuram’s campus is excellent and appropriate for an educational institution. NIT Puducherry is still functioning from the temporary campus due to construction on the main site. Placements: NIT Puducherry is only known for its placement opportunities provided to its IT students. The rest of the department receives average placement offers. But IIITDM Kancheepuram provides great placements and maintains that record every year. Ans. I have a few friends from MMMUT. According to them, in this situation, the chances of getting a seat are very unlikely. Computer science and electronics communication branches are the most preferred ones. Since you are from the general category the chances are low but you should attend the counseling sessions to check in which branch you can get admission. Ans. Both Allahabad University and ECC are very good institutes and choosing one among these two can be a very difficult decision. If you are planning to pursue B.Sc, then there are some points which you should consider before choosing a college. ECC is an autonomous institute and the academic environment and course curriculum in B.Sc (Maths) are much better than Allahabad University.  AU has a lot of politics involved among the students throughout the year and this creates a lot of disturbance in the academic atmosphere.  If you are interested in studying in the Biology field, then choosing Allahabad University will be a better option. You will enjoy a lot of advantages including access to modern laboratories and central library, interaction with research students, and many other things.  If you are interested in taking admission in B.Sc (Maths), then choosing ECC will be the right option and if you are interested in taking admission in B.Sc (Biology), then choosing Allahabad University will be the right option. Read more

College Events :

Most of the events are for the college students, theres ab initio for technical, resonance for cultural, and combat for sports. These are mostly participated in by the students of the college itself. The college allows for University level competitions if the students push.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The teachers try their best to support and educate the students. College is affiliated to SPPU, so the course followed is dictated by the university. The teachers are good people. Industrial visits happen, what you learn from them is up to you.

Remarks :

It is a Government College, and parental pressure may push you into situations you normally wouldn't go into. The placements were non-existent. The place looks nice during monsoon but becomes an absolute desert during the summer.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

For students of Open Category, there is a government scholarship which cuts down the fees from 1, 80, 000 to 1, 04, 000 INR. The college itself guides the students how and when to apply for the scholarship. Students of categories like OBC, SC, ST also have to apply for the same scholarship but they get their fees cut down on basis on their caste whereas students of open category get their cut down on the basis of their income certificate.

College Events :

Vishwakarandak - This is an inter-department competition in which students of different departments compete against each other. DESH i. e. First Year Students are considered a single department and they compete against other departments i. e CSE, ECE, Mech, Production, Chemical, IT of all remaining three years. Melange - This is the biggest event in the collge. This year, due to the coronavirus pandemic, this event got cancelled.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The Course Curriculum is good and research-driven as well. The exams are MCQ based which reduces the burden mugging up things for the sake of examination. This helps students to focus on studies other than college syllabus such as preparing for coding interviews and creating projects. The college also encourages students to create projects in each semester.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

As it is a Government college the fees over here is really less as compared to other technical colleges in the state. It is quite affordable for any middle class family to send there child to this college for schooling and if you are among OBC or SC ST category then it's a cherry on the cake you have pay just have the amount or even less than that and the rest of the amount will be paid by the Government itself. The only thing is that you have pay for the whole academic year at once it would be quite convinient if it would have been semester wise

Admission :

The eligibility criteria for getting admission in our college is one should have completed his/her High School with at least 50% marks in PCM and must have appeared in MH-CET examination of the year of admission. Once the student give the exam of MH-CET he has to fill an online form generated by Maharashtra government where he has to fill the college names according to his/her preference and he gets the admission through the merit

Campus Life :

Gender ratio is good compared to other technical college and also the campus life is great as well. The college have five branches of engineering and also few branches for post graduation and a branch of MCA each one have there own separate labs. Also the college takes part in different national and international level of events and also backed many prizes in these events

College Events :

The events are like this 1. Branch welcome(the first thing you will see in this college) 2-Branch farewell 3-Vassaunt (cultural fest) OK. The Vassaunt is actually loaded with very much fun. You can't compare it with that of IITs and NITs, but it's very nice in its own level. You can see many national stars performing on the stage. 3 days loaded with numbers of performances. 4-Samavesh (Tech Fest) The tech fest is pretty much equipped as you can search that VSSUT is the first and only (till now) college with an Space incubation centre made by ISRO and also the robotics is under some top ranks in india. Adding some national level hackathons and some packed fun events like DJ night and star night it is very much happy environment. 5-TEDx VSSUT- Yes, VSSUT has got the rights from TED to conduct it's own TED event borrowing some great talents in india. ILLUMINA- the 2 day sports event which I think no need to describe as everyone is aware about sports events. 6-Many hostel events. Many other events take place as per their requirements and different with time. Also adding some hostel events, it is very much equipped with events.

Placement Experience :

The placement in this college is pretty much good. As you know 2020 is corona year, so can't predict about the placement of 2021 batch, as it's almost very hard time going all over the world. But talking about the 2020 batch. Ahh they are very much content with the placements. Most of the companies coming here to recruit is mass recruiter, which will pay you 3. 5-4. 5 lpa. But also some good companies like Aditya Birla, Deloitte, Amazon, L& T, Bitibe, NINELEAPS, Vedanta, Bhusan, TATA(i can't remember much, but more than 30 companies which give you dream package which is 6-20 lpa, which pick 5-30 students depending upon their requirements) etc. Also the mass recruiting companies offer you to sit for higher package which is 6-8 lpa. If you are talented enough, you will grab it. Name any mass recruiter company, they have been to our college in 2020. I know people with 4-5 job offers. And minimum is 1 job offers. I can assure you that if you don't have any backpaper and you are a little smart, they you won't go bare-handed from here.

Campus Life :

Campus life is very much content. Though it is an open campus. It has it's own advantages. It is connected to the town and that's why you are free to move everywhere. Gender ratio is 6:4. Which pretty good I guess. Even in mechanical and civil branch you will get many beautiful girls. You will find a Club for everything I guess. Art, robotics, science, rocketery, baja, entrepreneurship, dramatics, supra, literary (many more left to be named). All providing you enough opportunities. Though some of them have their own politics issue which can be good for you if you know how to make it or bad for you. Otherwise you will see very much open minded people here, supporting seniors and a totally different culture of senior junior which will make you fall in love with this.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I had completed my graduation in electronics and telecommunication engineering. It is specific field where do you get to learn new innovative subjects. Which could be very curious. There i got to learn new technologies currently working in electronics industries. That knowledge is very useful while visiting or working in such electronics companies. I had been specialize in electronics design field as i had some interest. That interest took me golden opportunity while attending campus interview. And from college i got internship in field related company. So it were the great opportunity given by college to me to learn new things.

Admission :

I had completed my diploma in electronics and telecommunication engineering. By keeping same field i took admission for under graduation through CAP rounds. I choose some priorities colleges. I choose colleges according to their university ranking. Afterward according to merit no. i have been selected for vishwakarma institute of information Technology college in pune. After that i went to college for admission process by submitting some documents and fees. I took admission in that college on 10 August 2016.

College Events :

Every year college organizes cultural gathering with lots of events like ramp walk, robo race, robo fight, sports bike show, stunt show, chess and caram competition, cricket event, football event, hollyball event, kabaddi, dance show, Dj night show, and also organized technical events like paper presentations, innovations paper, project papers, circuit design competition and so on. All of this events organized at high level competition all the college and university students participate in this functions.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The board of studies has designed the course according to the industry requirements by taking advice from IITs, NITs, and partner industries to meet the market requirements. Mandatory industrial internship ensures professional experience and the online mid-semester exam and End semester exams which have great difficulty level ensure core competency. Various Industrial visits were organized to GMRT, UL Group of Companies, Visha Electronics etc

Faculty :

All faculties were M.tech holders and the HoD was a Doctorate who taught us software used in Industry. Vishwakarma learning labs is the best platform to take elective courses outside of academics. Even in this COVID 19 pandemic, there are weekly online sessions regarding technical and business aspects of the industry conducted by esteemed alumnus.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The fees can be paid via demand draft, online payment or via cash as well. My program fee was roughly 4.5 lakhs and the college does provide transperancy in the breakdown of the fees. The college also admits a few students via Management Quota. After CAP round selection we have to pay fees of 1 year to secure our admission.

Campus Life :

Campus Life is a positive place where students can go to have fun with friends, talk about relevant issues and be heard without judgment. It's a place where students are challenged to make good decisions and lead in positive ways in their school. In college, you are expected to do most of your learning on your own. For every hour you spend in class, you should plan to spend two hours out of class reading, studying, and completing assignments. The importance of regular class attendance cannot be overemphasized.

Remarks :

The college does not provide placements in our batch. Some few years back, the college was best in our city. Many companies visited our campus for recruitments. But, nowadays placements are totally Nil, and not only in the mechanical branch in other branches also. There was a dedicated placement section with an experienced person who worked as an HR once. But he resigned, and the placement section closed due to which we did not got placements.

Admission :

Through JEE rank and then councelling. JEE Main is the widely acceptable entrance test, and most of the engineering colleges in India accept JEE Mains score for B. Tech admissions. Apart from JEE Main, state-level engineering entrance exams are also popular among students. However, state-level engineering entrance exams are confined to a specific state.

Placement Experience :

College having Very Good On Campus placement as around 200 companies visited the college and mostly ECE courses are preferred and with good percentage of placement every year i.e around 99% and with approx package of 450000. Yes, institution takes a well prepared step to prepare student for the placement season.

Campus Life :

A gender ratio is around 4:1 4 boys and 1 girl. There is less parties in college campus but you can go out for night parties. There is no tolerance regarding gender, religion, race and sexual orientation. There is no such polities activities as it is a disciplined college and It has good economic status.

Faculty :

There is 6 lectures and 2 Lab Classes so there is total 8 lectures and teachers are well qualified and with great background. They are highly qualified and having good experience with industries and they very well known how to taught students and tell them about their each and every subject.
