Eligibility Criteria for B.Tech. in Electronics Control System Engineering

The minimum eligibility required for availing admission is having passed the higher secondary examination (10+2) from any recognized board/ State board/ CBSE/ ICSE with Mathematics, Physics as mandatory subjects and any one of Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology or any other technical subject. To be eligible to apply, candidates are needed to have scored a minimum aggregate score of 45-50%. There is a 5% relaxation in the required minimum aggregate marks for reserved category students(SC/ST). English is also one of the compulsory subjects in the qualifying examination at some institutes. Apart from this, there are certain other admission criteria for engineering colleges.

For those with a diploma degree in the course, the option of direct admission is available to B. Tech 2nd year by means of lateral entry.

Admission Process for B.Tech. in Electronics Control System Engineering

Selection of the eligible candidates is carried out either on the basis of the AIR obtained in JEE Mains or marks obtained in the national/ State level or university level entrance examinations.

  • Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology Entrance Exam (KIITEE) – It is a university level examination, KIITEE conducted by Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) for admissions to 4- year B. Tech programs and 5- year dual degree (B. Tech+ M. Tech) programs. The online computer based test is held in the month of April. Application forms are available from December to March.
  • Bharath Engineering Entrance Examination (BEEE) – BEEE is conducted by Bharath University, Chennai for admission into engineering courses. Admissions are allotted to candidates on the basis of the BEEE scores and of the qualifying examination in the order of merit. Application forms are available online on the official website of the university mostly in the month of February and the submission date is in April. The entrance exam is held in the month of May followed by counseling in June for the selected candidates.

Ans. Kalyani University is a very popular institution and pursuing an engineering degree from this university has its own pros and cons. Some of my friends studied there and here are the things I got to know from them. Pros  This institution is owned and run by the government. The complete fees for your 4 years of graduation is less compared to other private colleges. The faculty of this college is very good and all other staff members such as lab assistant, office staff, canteen staff are very helpful.  The university also hires some external professors having years of industry experience to teach and guide the students.  This gets them accustomed to the corporate culture.  The total number of students in this department is less so you will always have the chance to interact with your professors. Cons One of the biggest demerits of this university is that it doesn't have a proper placement cell in its campus.  Securing a job offer is tough, and you have to take the initiative yourself. The infrastructure of this college is average. The computer lab, electronics lab, instrumentation lab don't have adequate facilities.  The campus is located in a remote area. Ans. Having known some people studying in these colleges, I can tell you that both colleges are really good in their own ways. But, you should consider the following before you make any decision: KJ Somaiya has slowly improved over the years and now is considered much better than Mumbai University (MU). Vivekanand is known to keep track of attendance which is not the case with KJ Somaiya. If you are considering doing Electronics, you should know that Electronics and Telecommunications has an upper edge. The exams at KJ Somaiya are tougher than MU. This is because MU repeats a lot of previous years’ questions. You will get a 5 day holiday in MU before a semester paper. At KJ, you will only get a day or two. Therefore, at KJ, your exams will be hectic. The semesters end pretty quickly at KJ as opposed to MU.  MU students only get one month’s leave after a semester ends. For KJ, this leave is for 2 months.  You can utilize this time to look for internships and other activities that will help strengthen your resume. Electronics has a few subjects like digital communication which might overlap with telecommunications. Ans. EE at IIT Dhanbad is unquestionably superior to NIT Calicut’s ECE. According to some of my friends studying at IIT Dhanbad, you should never lose the chance of studying at IIT Dhanbad.  So far as the branch is concerned, there is a minor difference.  ECE is more concerned with IT than EE.  But it doesn't matter if you're in a prestigious institution.  In reality, almost all branch students learn to code and apply to tech companies at IIT. You will have plenty of opportunities to learn whatever you want at the institution.  It is entirely up to you whether you want to work in core companies or IT companies after completing EE. Becoming an electronics engineer totally depends upon the person, and their effort, not the college.  Some of the students follow the GATE syllabus to enter into the government sectors.  Some get recruitment in top private companies by learning these programming languages. The college can help you out only by giving a proper study environment that can promote your overall development.  If you wish to join the private sector, then only the placement facility provided by the college is useful to you.
