Eligibility for B.Tech. Food Science and Technology

The basic eligibility for pursuing B.Tech. Food Science and Technology course is a Higher Secondary (10+20) or equivalent qualification completed from a recognized educational Board, with Physics, Chemistry, and Math as main subjects, and a minimum aggregate score of 60%.

Ans. Both TNAU and TANUVAS are relatively similar institutions because they are state-run universities. There is no major difference between the two universities in terms of their infrastructure and faculty members. Ans. Kongu Engineering College is better than TANUVAS for Food Technology. It is the best in terms of experience, faculty, lab facilities, and environment, among other things. TANUVAS is great for animal research but not for food technology. It is a pretty good choice if you are interested in chemistry and biology.  The curriculum is very unique and industry-oriented since the food industry sees a growth of about 15-18% every year.  Every year good companies visit there and recruit students. Companies such as Nestle, ITC, PepsiCo, Dabur, etc.  There is an advantage since it's new the research projects are just starting and there are more funds and a well-backed faculty department and administration.  NIFTEM is a place where you can express yourself through your unique ideas. There are lots of chances by doing some research work on the subject you are interested in. NIFTEM is regarded as one of the best institutes regarding placements for food tech and management students. Ans. No, as per the recent guidelines, there is no quota as such. Instead, there was a discrete program named PGN-ABM until only the 2015-17 batch. However, it has now altered to FABM (commonly known as, Food and Agri-business Management), which also is elaborated as the two-year full time residential programme that covers allied sectors like food procession, commodities, etc, found since the next batch. Even though the eligibility criteria is not disclosed yet, the name suggests clearly that students with a Food and Technology degree will be considered. So, in that case, there is an upside to this, with almost no worries concerning the quota for a student having a BTech degree in food technology to apply for the IIM, Ahmedabad. Categories IIM Ahmedabad Course Fee 10-23 lakh Highest CTC 40 LPA Average CTC 14.5 LPA Placement Percentage 90-95% In spite of that fact, before even being shortlisted, you will definitely need to perform well in CAT. Admission :

I got the admission through KCET. There is no interviews conducted. The process is you get selected based on your option entry and your ranking as well as cut off of the college. We enter the preferred list of college through online entry, the college is allotted based on cutoff. The whole process is online. The fee payment of college is through an app. The process is quite easy

Campus Life :

Extracurricular activities like sports of all category are conducted. Many inter-collegiate events and tournaments are being conducted. They encourage students to be part of literary and cultural events. The support from teachers is immense. Lab facilities are available but not upto mark as mainly theory is concentrated by the professors.

Remarks :

The college administration is somewhat stringent and not student friendly. There is no students association for the students to voice their problems and difficulties. The environment of the college is just beautiful. It has nice ambience. Transportation is a problem as it is situated on NH-75 between cities. Buses are not halted there.

Admission :

The college has an entrance examination for the admission of students on merit and a fair basis. However, i have received admission on the basis of my MHT-CET marks as the entrance examination was already conducted before i approached the college. The college takes into consideration the marks of all entrance exams as well as 10th and 12th board exam marks.

Campus Life :

The college has various clubs in order to focus on the various skills that the students have and also encourages students to develop new skills. The sports fest of the college includes various games. The speaking ability of the students is focused on and is completely developed by the end of the course.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The learning process is very interesting as the faculties are knowledgable and always there to clear your doubts. The college organizes various industrial visits in order to allow the students to have industrial-based learning. The college is well equipped with a library for reference books.
